Fast Start Early Access<br />

Program off and running<br />

GENERAL<br />

Last month <strong>Computer</strong> Systems Division (CSY)<br />

announced the Fast Start Early Access Program for<br />

value-added-channel migration to the new <strong>HP</strong> 3000<br />

Series 930 systems. It's off and running, and the engi-<br />

neers in Information Technology Group's (ITG) Software<br />

Evaluation and Migration Center (SEMC) in Cupertino<br />

are already worlung with some of our value-added chan-<br />

nels. If you watched the Series 930 and 950 telecon-<br />

ferences on February 25 and 26, you are familiar with our<br />

first successes: the migrations of some of ASK Compu-<br />

ter's software and <strong>Computer</strong> Systems Division's (CSY)<br />

own General Ledger accounting systems to the Series<br />

930.<br />

To date, 20 of our high-leverage, high-profile <strong>HP</strong> 3000<br />

value-added channels have contracted with CSY to<br />

migrate their tools and applications software at the<br />

SEMC:<br />

"Fast Start" chapter and "Q & A" section of the Migra-<br />

tion Sales Guide in the System Reference Guide. They will<br />

help clanfy the significant differences between the two<br />

aspects of the Fast Start Program: Early Access<br />

(migration-planning assistance and Series 930 usage at<br />

the SEMC) and Early Information (receipt of beta quality<br />

documentation prior to manufacturing release of the<br />

Series 930).<br />

Please remember that our Fast Start participants are<br />

operating under confidential disclosure agreements and<br />

may not discuss the details of the Early Access Program,<br />

the migration process, or the Series 930 system. Due i:o<br />

resource restrictions, we cannot accept additional Fast<br />

Start participants at this time.<br />

For the recent Spectrum program introduction, one of<br />

the most complete selections of promotional literature<br />

ever was created to help generate the enthusiasm and<br />

push necessary to launch the new systems appropriately.<br />

In planning the literature, we targeted each piece to a<br />

specific audience and determined just how and where it<br />

would be used in the sales cycle. Below is a literature list<br />

which details the objective of each piece, the target<br />

audience, and its intended use. Of course, you d l find<br />

additional creative ways to use this literature to support<br />
