“Mars Drinks is excited about our continued sponsorship of the

MARS Drinks Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade,” says Brian Miller,
executive vice president of sales and marketing for Mars Drinks
the community through one of the premier events in the area.
Mars Drinks and our family of offi ce beverage brands—Alterra
will continue to participate in the local events that shape our
community. We look forward to enjoying the festivities with
everyone during the event.”
Prior to the parade, many businesses and organizations
throughout downtown will host holiday open houses, featuring
refreshments and seasonal entertainment. At 6:30 p.m., the third
annual Jingle Elf Run kicks off at Market and
High streets with a 2-mile run and a
1-mile walk.
With 6abc Action News’ Adam Joseph (left)
and 6abc reporter Cathy Gandolfo serving as
masters of ceremony, the parade promises
a mix of traditional and new elements. A host
of local schools, businesses, volunteer fi re
companies and service organizations will be
represented among the many marching bands,
fl oats and antique vehicles that have become
a mainstay of Old-Fashioned Christmas.
Spectators of all ages will be entertained
by fi rst-time participant Elizabeth Toal, a senior
at West Chester University and the featured vocal performer at this
year’s parade, and returning favorites Caporales San Simon Bolivian
Dancers and the Fraternidad Cultural Pachamama Bolivian Dancers.
Thanks to the efforts of parade producer Todd Marcocci—president
of Under the Sun Productions, Inc., in West Chester—attendees
also will enjoy a special salute to our armed forces featuring the
Silver Dolphins, the Chester County Marine Corps League Color
Guard and the Valley Forge Military Academy Music Band, just to
name a few.
Starting at New and Market streets, this year’s parade will wind
its way through the historic borough of West Chester and travel
north on New Street, east on Gay Street, south on Matlack Street,
west on Market Street and through to New Street without
stopping at the old Chester County Courthouse. With last year’s
crowd estimated at 25,000, the longer route will provide more
opportunities for front-row viewing.
A complete list of Old-Time Christmas events will be
Wells Fargo wants to be the best bank in Pennsylvania, with all the
advantages of a great coast-to-coast bank. One of the ways that
they demonstrate their local commitment is through community
involvement. Providing support to their communities and helping them
succeed has been part of the company culture since Wells Fargo was
founded in 1852. They continue that tradition today as a proud sponsor of The MARS
Drinks Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade.
Community involvement is one of Wells Fargo’s core values. As a community–
based organization, they believe they have a responsibility to promote economic
prosperity and a better quality of life for everyone in the communities they serve.
There has never been a thriving bank in a struggling community.
At Wells Fargo, the goal is to help all customers succeed fi nancially. That means
extending credit to help businesses grow, providing loans that help people buy
homes and automobiles, and helping customers fi nd the best way to save for their
children’s education or their retirement. It means working to help customers with
fi nancial hardships stay in their homes and providing a fi nancial education to
children and adults to help them achieve their goals.
And it means participating in the celebrations and traditions that make the
communities special—like this Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade.
Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter to Benefi t from 2011 Jingle Elf Run
At Safe Harbor of Chester County, single men and
women have a safe, warm place to stay—one with
welcoming surroundings, hot showers, laundry
facilities and nourishing meals.
This year, the Greater West Chester Chamber of
Commerce has selected Safe Harbor to receive the
proceeds of its third annual Jingle Elf Run to be held
immediately before the MARS Drinks Old-Fashioned
Christmas Parade.
Established in 1995, Safe Harbor completed
a major expansion in 2010,
doubling the size of the shelter to
accommodate 20 men and 20 women.
Currently, it’s the only option in
Chester County with beds for single,
homeless women. Anyone over
18 is welcome to stay up to four
months as they work to develop a plan to gain back
their independence.
Safe Harbor works with many area agencies to
fi nd permanent housing and jobs, address medical
or addiction issues, and more. It exists thanks to
the thousands of volunteer hours, the tens of
thousands of donated meals, and the incredible
generosity of people, businesses, faith communities
and schools. For more information, visit
A Message from the Parade Producers … Hello and Happy Holidays!
Under the Sun Productions’
Todd Marcocci
Under the Sun Productions took over
as producers of the West Chester
Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade in 2006
as a labor of love. We feel strongly that
it’s important for all businesses in the
community to give back to the residents
of the region during the holiday season,
so we’re doing our part.
This year’s parade will be the best
ever. Since December 2010, we’ve been
working with all of this year’s parade
participants to ensure a creative and
aesthetically tight production. Such
extensive preparation is unheard of in a hometown parade, but
ours has grown so much that visitors come from all over the East
Coast to watch. So we’re giving everyone a big-city parade in our
little borough.
This new “art direction” initiative makes certain that this year’s
parade serves as a moving stage show of the highest quality. We
know you’ll walk away feeling overwhelmed and thrust headlong
into the spirit of the holiday season. Hats off to the parade
participants for working with us on this initiative.
At Under the Sun, we’ve been in the business of producing
professional parades for almost two decades around the nation. Yet
we still fi nd it amazing that, over the last six years, we’ve had the
following places represented in the West Chester Old-Fashioned
Christmas Parade: Texas, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey,
Series
Wendell August’s Richard Bollinger
Renowned American artist Richard Bollinger’s
