A Message From Your
uction ea
Families and Friends of Heathwood Hall,
Welcome to Heathwood Hall’s 29th Annual Auction, where we gather to celebrate
and raise funds for our school community…Mardi Gras style! Our Auction
committee has been hard at work planning a spectacular evening of great food,
fellowship and, of course, priceless items that we hope you will take some time to
look at and more importantly to bid on. Thanks to the hard work of many, we
hope you enjoy the Dining Common’s transformation into a Mardi Gras party
on Bourbon Street.
For 29 years, the Heathwood Hall Auction has been the largest parent driven
fund-raising event for our school, raising well over $4 million dollars in the past 28
years. The proceeds from this event support technology, academic programs,
academic scholarships, professional development, athletics, arts and the
operation of our school. Thanks to your support, we can continue to build on the
tradition of Heathwood Hall for years to come.
It’s Mardi Gras at Heathwood!
Mardi Gras literally translated in French,
means “Fat Tuesday.” It was so named
because it was the final chance to
indulge in food, drink and merrymaking
before the more serious time of fasting
began the next day, on Ash Wednesday.
In some Roman Catholic countries,
Mardi Gras carnivals have been held
since the Middle Ages. Some of the
most celebrated carnivals are held in
Rio de Janeiro, Nice, Cologne
and of course, New Orleans!
Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!
It’s about being
part of a team.
That’s why we partner with organizations that give
back to the community. We support groups that
improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians.
Working together, we can make a dierence.
Building healthy communities.
It’s the business we’re in.
A healthy community
is more than just
healthy people.
