Alleged Rapist Arrested
Robert Gnade
Lincoln County Sheriff’s
Deputies arrested Robert
Gnade, 41, of Troy, on charges
of Forcible Rape and Felonious
Restraint after the 19 year-old
victim reported the crime to the
Criminal Investigation Division
(CID).
According to the Sheriff’s
Department, the 19 year-old
female told her mother and investigators
that Gnade tied her
up, beat her with his belt, and
sexually assaulted her several
times.
Gnade, six-foot eight inches,
215 pounds, told investigators
he placed rope, sex toys,

and handcuffs into a duffle bag
and then enticed the girl to go
with him to pick up her medication.
Gnade drove the girl to a
remote shed located on his parent’s
property in a rural portion
of Lincoln County.
Upon arrival, Gnade handcuffed
the girl to the ceiling rafters,
removed her clothing and
began to strike her with his belt,
leaving lacerations.
Gnade tried to convince the
girl if she agreed to having sexual
intercourse he would stop
the beating. The girl continued
to resist.
“This is an especially egregious
crime because it is associated
with unimaginable brutality
that goes far beyond just
a sexual assault,” said Sheriff
Dan Torres. “We will do everything
within the law to keep this
man behind bars,” said Torres.
After countless strikes,
Gnade removed her arm restraints,
forced her to the
ground, and continued the
sexual assault. Gnade stated
he fantasized raping the girl for
the past two-weeks.
Gnade is being held at the
Lincoln County Jail. Honorable
Judge Amy Kinker set bond at
$150,000 cash only.
Gov. Matt Blunt is encouraging
all Missouri families preparing
to send their children back
to school to take advantage of
Missouri’s annual sales tax holiday
August 3 through August 5,
when items often called “back
to school supplies” can be purchased
tax-free.
Certain clothing, school
supplies, personal computers,
and software are exempt from
the state sales tax of 4.225 percent
during the holiday.
“As Missouri families prepare
to send their children back
to school we are preparing to
give them a back to school tax
cut,” Blunt said. “The tax holiday
is a great opportunity for Missourians
to buy school supplies
and other necessities for their
children while saving some of
their hard earned money. I want
to encourage all parents and
caregivers to take advantage of
the upcoming tax free holiday.”
The sales tax exemption applies
to:
a.. Clothing - any article having
a taxable value of $100 or
less;
b.. School supplies - not to
exceed $50 per purchase;
c.. Computer software - taxable
value of $350 or less; and
d.. Personal computers and
school uniforms or other school
clothing. “School supplies” are
any items normally used by students
in a standard classroom
for educational purposes, such
as textbooks, notebooks, rulers,
book bags, or calculators.
“Personal computers” includes
laptops, desktops, and
other related features such as
disk drives, memory modules,
and printers. Section 144.049,
RSMo, contains a more detailed
description of tax-exempt
items.
Local tax jurisdictions have
the option of participating in
the sales tax holiday. While the
state sales tax will be exempt
in all counties in Missouri, cities,
counties, and other taxing
districts that choose not to participate
will collect local sales
tax. This year, 169 cities, 51
counties, and five taxing districts
have opted out of participating
in the sales tax holiday.
In those areas, during the sales
tax holiday, the local tax will be
collected while the state portion
will not.
Local cities of Marthasville,
Montgomery City, Moscow Mills
and New Melle have opted not
to participate. Local counties of
Audrain, Boone, and Callaway
are not participating in the holiday
this year. A full list of nonparticipating
cities, counties,
and districts is listed on the Missouri
Department of Revenue’s
website at www.dor.mo.gov.
