ENTRANCE TO BADAMI CAVES<br />

Day 09 Bijapur - Badami ( 150 Kms / 5 Hrs )<br />

After breakfast, drive to Badami to explore the Badami Caves. The<br />

Cave Temples here are brilliant example of <strong>India</strong>n rock-cut<br />

architecture. Carved out<br />

of soft sandstone in the<br />

late 6th century, the caves<br />

represent different<br />

religious sects. You will<br />

also visit the Aihole<br />

temple complex before<br />

heading to Pattadakal,<br />

famous for its<br />

monuments dating back<br />

AIHOLE TEMPLE<br />

to the 8th century. Built<br />

under the patronage of<br />

the Chalukyan Dynasty,<br />

the monuments display<br />

both the north <strong>India</strong>n Nagara and southern Dravidian styles of<br />

architecture. Overnight in Badami.<br />

Day 10 Badami - Hospet ( 130 Kms / 4 Hrs )<br />

This morning, head to Hospet. Its tourist importance lies in its<br />

proximity to Hampi, the site of the medieval Vijayanagar Empire,<br />

situated about 13 kms away. Today<br />

Hospet is an important site for iron-ore<br />

mining. Overnight in Hospet.<br />

Day 11 Hospet - Hampi -<br />

ELEPHANT STABLES AT HAMPI Hubli ( 260 Kms / 5 Hrs )<br />

In the morning, visit the<br />

ruins at Hampi - the seat of<br />

the famed Vijayanagara Empire. This the capital of the largest<br />

empire in post-mogul <strong>India</strong>, covering several states and is place of<br />

historic and religious significance. The excavations here are almost<br />

like a vast open air<br />

museum. Although<br />

Day 12 Hubli - Goa ( 300 kms / 7 Hrs )<br />

After breakfast, leave for<br />

Goa. Located on the<br />

western coast of <strong>India</strong>, Goa<br />

is the smallest <strong>India</strong>n state.<br />

Known for its sublime<br />

beaches and pretty,<br />

whitewashed churches,<br />

unwind on the Goan beaches.<br />

Day 13 Goa<br />

This morning, visit the Se Cathedral.<br />

Consecrated in 1640, the cathedral is<br />

dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria.<br />

You will also see the Viceroy's Arch. The<br />

arch was built as a memorial to Vasco De<br />

Gama and stands on the jetty of Old<br />

Goa. It is said that every Viceroy had to<br />

pass through this arch before taking<br />

office. Overnight in Goa.<br />

Day 14 Goa / Mumbai<br />

After breakfast, head to the airport to board your flight to Mumbai.<br />

Here, you will have the opportunity to wash and change. After<br />

dinner, leave for the airport to board your flight for your onward<br />

destination.<br />
