Southwest order keeps 737 MAX program on track - AviTrader

for Skywest Airlines: four ATR 72-500s, which
are already operating on Virgin Australia’s
regional network, and nine new generation
ATR 72-600s, the first of which Skywest will
receive next year. This new contract for five
ATR 72-600s also includes options for eight
additional aircraft. The list price of the agreement,
including options, is over $295m. Like
the ATR 72-500s now operated for Virgin
Australia by Skywest Airlines, all of the ATR
72-600 aircraft will fly in Virgin’s new white
and red colour scheme. The latest five aircraft
are scheduled to be delivered from early 2013
through early 2014.
<strong>Southwest</strong> <strong>order</strong>s 150 <strong>737</strong> <strong>MAX</strong> airplanes
and 58 Next-Generation <strong>737</strong>s
<strong>Southwest</strong> Airlines finalized a firm <strong>order</strong> for
150 fuel-efficient <strong>737</strong> <strong>MAX</strong> airplanes. <strong>Southwest</strong>
is the first customer to finalize an <strong>order</strong>
for the <strong>737</strong> <strong>MAX</strong> and becomes the launch
customer for the new LEAP-1B engine-variant.
In addition, the airline expanded its current
<strong>order</strong> book with an <strong>order</strong> for 58 additional
CFM56-7BE-powered Next-Generation
<strong>737</strong>-800s. The firm <strong>order</strong> is the largest in Boeing
history both in dollar value, nearly $19bn
at list prices, and the number of airplanes. It
supports <strong>Southwest</strong>’s initiative to modernize
its all-Boeing fleet, the world’s largest fleet
of <strong>737</strong>s. As the <strong>737</strong> <strong>MAX</strong> launch customer,
<strong>Southwest</strong> will take delivery of the first airplane
when it enters service in 2017.
H80 Turboprop engine received EASA

Etihad Airways <strong>order</strong>s 10 787-9
Dreamliners
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the
United Arab Emirates, signed an <strong>order</strong> for
10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and two Boeing

Flying Colours delivers Challenger
850 to Lily Jet of China
Flying Colours, a global aviation service
company, delivered its fourth Chinese registered
aircraft – a Bombardier Challenger
850 business jet, Serial No. 8098 – to Shenyang
based air charter company Lily Jet last
month. The aircraft left Flying Colours’ Peterborough,
Canada facility and arrived at the
Lily Jet base on November 29th. The aircraft
is scheduled to go into service immediately
and will be available for third party charter.
