a strip to the right. — Large cursive.<br />
Certificate issued by Gnaeus Vergilius Capito, praefect o£ Egypt, to Tryphon, son of<br />
Dionysius, exempting him from military service. Dated in the 12th year of Claudius<br />
(a.d. 52). Complete. 14 lines.<br />

a strip to the left. — Very cursive.<br />
Petition addressed to Gnaeus Vergilius Capito by Tryphon, son of Dionysius (cf. lOOOl),<br />
complaining that a certain Syrus refused to abide by a judgement given in a dispute<br />
between him and Tryphon. Written in the middle of the 1st century. Practically<br />
complete. 19 lines.<br />

Receipt given by Antiphanes, son of Heraclas, to Tryphon, son of Dionysius (ef. 10001<br />
and 10002), stating that Tryphon had repaid a loan of 160 drachmae. Dated in<br />
the 5th year of Nero (a.d. 59). Nearly complete. 28 lines.<br />

much effaced. 35 lines. Contents of the verso similar, written in a different hand<br />
partly effaced. 18 lines. Verso dated in the 16th year of Hadrian (a.d. 132).<br />
