Limitations
As the RCSA-Pune is adapting to the new role of independent entities, the roles are still
being clearly defined and scope discovered. It is also imperative to note that the role of the
RCSA is beyond the administrative and fund flow requirements.
Future Plans
The establishment of the State Level People’s Organization is the primary focus of the
RCSA-Pune. This is a long-term endeavor as the collective ownership of the communities to
question the very basis of state level policies. This would entail the detailing of the
referendum process at the local level to constitute a SLPO. This would also clearly highlight
the role and responsibilities of the members. The collective ownership process would be to
look into matters of sustainability of the organization at the apex level as well as the
continuing identities of the existing people’s organization.
The initiation of the indexing of the people’s organization and the ensuring participatory
patterns of the community in the process would be studied. It is important to clearly delve
into the water issues and it’s inter-relation with the issues. Greater focus would be given to
the promotion of gender rights in the community.
There were attempts being made to initiate the collection, analysis and policy level
intervention on matter pertaining to NREGA & BPL. This will be further taken up by the
RCSA in an in-depth analysis and facilitate the intervention.
There will be greater attempts to focus on the specialization of the staff at the DBSS level to
equip them to build their capacities.
Conclusions
The RCSA-Pune has begun a great journey of adventure that will create different avenues for
intervention. The expanding roles of the staff with multi-tasking being a skill have ensured
that we are in the process of re-defining our roles. It is also important to note that the
collective initiatives result in the growing team spirit of this RCSA.
