NCACB President’s Message:
Welcome fellow cattlemen, ranchers and breeders. I can’t say
enough about how thrilled the members of this club and I are to be part
of the 25th anniversary of the North Central Alberta Charolais Breeders
Club. On behalf of the consignors, I would like to take this opportunity
to thank the founding breeders who had the perseverance to start up
this organization and support it.
I feel that we have an excellent variety of bulls for every need. The
present four members have invested much time and resources into their
herds in order to bring you their best. Whether you are in the market
for yearlings or 2 year olds, red or whites, we have the bulls that will
work for you.
We hope to see you all on the 21st to help celebrate our 25th.
Two years ago we searched for the best Red Factor Bull we could find with outcross genetics to our herd, we
found Triple Play. We purchased him at the Red Bonanza sale where he was the high selling bull. We AI’ed the
majority of the herd to him. Come down to the farm and see the calves, to date we have close to 40 and when
calving is done there should be around 60. As we do with all of our herd bulls, we sell them in their prime. Triple
Play is also Leptin tested TT. If you need a proven bull to cover a lot of cows, and add some color, look no further.
We always like to keep a bull around and grow him in to a two year old for this sale. Maximum is Double Red
and three generations polled. Super feet, legs, and disposition. He is a stout, easy keeping type of bull which
will add thickness, depth, and color to his offspring. His dam is the famous STER 4L cow who raised the record
high selling red bull to sell in 2005, PRO-CHAR Maxim 38N. Between us and Wrangler we have over 40 Maxim
daughters and have sold over 50 sons. This is also the same cow family that raised the Doubleshot bull working
for SanDan and HEJ.
Captain Morgan was our show calf this fall. He was shown at Farm Fair and was the Senior Champion Bull Calf.
He was shown at the Fall Harvest and was a finalist, and then won People’s Choice Champion. At 10 months he
weighed 1300 lbs. and measured 37 cm. He is smooth double polled with a moderate birth weight, and huge
performance. We purchased his mother 3 years ago from Springside Farms, they liked her so much they retained
a flush, and flushed her last spring. She is good, big feet, super udder, and correct. She is also the grandam of
SOS Hemi, and her mother was in the Sparrow herd for many years. Her last year’s bull was sold to Hagman
Cattle Co. We will be drawing semen prior to the sale for our in-herd use, some inventory will sell with the bull.
Cigar is a moderate framed, well muscled bull with good feet and excellent hair. He is a bull we should be keeping
are known for short gestations and good milking females. Don’t miss out on this proven pedigree.
Here is one that you will have circled in your catalogue. There is power in the blood here. Many great names in
this guy’s pedigree such as Monte Carlo, Ice, and Y2K. Excellent EPDs on this guy. Plenty of performance in this
guy’s genetics and yet a very desirable birth weight.
Here is a thick, beefy, red bull that many will have their eyes on sale day. I wish we had a pen full of them.We
have had much interest in this guy on the farm but we thought that he would really complement the sale. He has
a thick red hair coat that is hard to find these days. His dam is a Bond female who we raised and is doing a
remarkable job for us. Note: The birth date. He will not be 2 until July.
Here is a bull that we used for 90 days on our own heifers this past summer. We felt that with the calving ease
genetics of Buckaroo and Expediter, we should have no issues. He was quite an active breeder from what we
noticed. Here is a smooth shouldered bull with a little head but still with length of body. 709’s dam was purchased
from Prairie Cove Charolais as Lyle’s 4-H project. She did excellent on the club and district levels winning
many prizes.
A smooth made, stylish bull that will catch your eye sale day. We purchased his dam out of the Red Bonanza
sale a few years back. He has a balanced set of EPDs and a real attractive birth weight. With his small head and
smooth shoulders I would not be afraid to use him on mature heifers.
Here is a stocky, mid May calf out of a heavy milking female that we purchased out of the McCorr Dispersal in
Saskatchewan in 2005 with the help of Duane Stauffer and Tim Bullick. Her polled pedigree caught my eye and
the rest is history. This stout white calf has a lot of depth of body as well as thickness through his quarter.
