<strong>Clamp<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>gibs</strong> <strong>with</strong> <strong>push</strong>-<strong>in</strong> <strong>thrust</strong> <strong>plate</strong><br />

<strong>METRON</strong> – clamp<strong>in</strong>g <strong>gibs</strong> <strong>with</strong> <strong>push</strong>-<strong>in</strong> <strong>thrust</strong> <strong>plate</strong> are used <strong>in</strong> such cases when the part to<br />
be clamped (slide, tool holder etc.) is moved out of the surround<strong>in</strong>g grip of the clamp<strong>in</strong>g gib<br />
and remais outside of it dur<strong>in</strong>g the clamp<strong>in</strong>g process.<br />
In the case of the normal clamp<strong>in</strong>g gib <strong>in</strong> this case the <strong>thrust</strong> <strong>plate</strong> would not be pressed<br />
aga<strong>in</strong>st the guidance, but it would be <strong>push</strong>ed out of the gib which would result <strong>in</strong> a destruction<br />
of the <strong>thrust</strong> <strong>plate</strong> due to strong deformation and due to burst<strong>in</strong>g of the clamp<strong>in</strong>g hose.<br />
The <strong>push</strong>-<strong>in</strong> <strong>thrust</strong> <strong>plate</strong>, however, disposes of a limited clamp<strong>in</strong>g stroke of max. 0,5 mm and<br />
can – also outside of the surround<strong>in</strong>g grip – be loaded up to a pressure of 150 bars, when<br />
us<strong>in</strong>g steel <strong>with</strong> a m<strong>in</strong>imum resistance of 600 N/mm 2 ; <strong>in</strong> case of grey cast iron correspond<strong>in</strong>gly<br />
less.<br />
For nom<strong>in</strong>al dimensions see page K 03-01, however, <strong>with</strong> the <strong>in</strong>struction that the height should<br />
be at least 40 mm.<br />
