DiChiara of Burlington are the lucky win
fliers of $1.000 in Medford Bank's recent
Combo Plus promotion.
The DiChiara's were one of 25.000 area
residents who received a postcard entry
•■•nil in the mail. The drawing for the
S1.000 prize was open to the public. Entry
forms were also available in all of Medford
Bank's 16 branch locations and in recent
newspaper advertisements. "I'm so ex-
cited." said Mrs. DiChiara. "I don't usually
enter contests, but when the postcard from
Medford hank arrived in the mail. I just had
a feeling we might win. So I mailed it in."
Medford Bank's Burlington branch man-
ager. Rina Lindonen presented the lucky
winner with the check at the Burlington
Office located at 258 Cambridge St. The
DiChiara'acntry was drawn randomly from
among hundreds filled out by hopeful win-
ners.
Medford Bank initiated the marketing
promotion in an effort to create more aware-
ness of their unique Combo Plus account.

Tcwksbury and granddaughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Spinazola of
Richmond Avenue.^Woburn, was
honored recently at a reception for
new members of The Golden Key
National Honor Society.
This Society is composed of the
hip 15 percent of the junior and
senior classes of major universities.
Jessica is a senior at the University
of New Hampshire, majoring in
Occupational Therapy with a minor
in Performing Arts. She is a 1994
graduate of Tcwksbury Memorial
High School.
BFA Senior Exhibition
LOWELL - The Art Department
of the University of Massachusetts
Lowell welcomes its December
1997 Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
Candidates in Graphic Design to the
world of professional artists. This
special exhibition in the University
Gallery showcases selected works
completed during their 15 credits of
Senior Studio visual thesis projects.
Fantasy artist Daniel DiCcnso is
represented by work from two of
his major scries. "Fantasy ABC"
and selections from the
"Federation's Restaurant
Campaign." which employs a Star
Trek theme. He' utilizes the
computer to color his fanciful pen
and ink drawings. Dan's influences
run the gamut from Frank Zappa to
Roy Lilchcnstcin. In addition, he
has created two popular Web sites.
Matthew High walks on the dark
side. His illustrations focus on the
malevolent aspect.in human nature
and are inspired by both pop fiction
and golhic horror. During his three
semesters in Senior Studio. Matt
created a comic book and two
illustration portfolios. His
fascination with good and evil are
represented by his portfolio.
"Highlander: Scotland the Brave"
and- the computer manipulated
images in his final portfolio. "All
Things Widked."
Tirnothy Notaro is a pop humorist
with a distinct cartooning style.
Included in this exhibition are
panels from his comic book scries.
"Tainted Colors." which focuses on
contemporary themes. "Whifflcball
'99" demonstrates Tim's talents
with the computer, fje developer)
this whimsical video game and its
accompanying ads as a marketing
prototype.
The public is invited to join in this
celebration of the completion of
their formal education at UMass
Lowell and the beginning of their
life adventure in art!
