Move over Nucky Johnson and HBO’s fictional Boardwalk Empire and make way for the true
story of Philip “Crazy Phil” Leonetti, one of Atlantic City’s most notorious gangsters,
as his long anticipated tell all of money, murder, mayhem and the mob is set to be released
this fall and already has piqued the interest of several Hollywood heavyweights who feel
that the story of Leonetti and his uncle, jailed mob boss Nicodemo “Little Nicky” Scarfo,
may be tinsel town’s next big gangster flick. The book, tentatively titled Mafia Prince,
is being authored by Leonetti with the assistance of true crime writers Scott Burnstein
and Christopher Graziano and from what we have been told, may include a reference to
an article that previously appeared in The Boardwalk Journal. Stay tuned for more
information on Mafia Prince in the coming months …
Speaking of references to The Boardwalk Journal, The Official Lifestyle Magazine of
Atlantic City & The Jersey Shore is set to make its debut on the current season of Bravo’s
‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’, as the August 2011 issue featuring Melissa Gorga
on the cover is scheduled to figure prominently in an upcoming episode. Bravo was nice
enough to send screen shots from the episode to The Boardwalk Journal, where Housewives
Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita are seen reading the magazine and the back cover,
which features an AtlantiCare ad is prominently displayed. See, it does pay to advertise
in The Boardwalk Journal. BWJ President / CEO James J. Leonard Jr., Esq. and his wife
Rebecca are also expected to appear in the episode, which was filmed last fall in New York
City and celebrated the release of Gorga’s debut single “On Display.” Leonard appeared
last season on the show when he introduced Gorga to music producer Corte Ellis, who
produced “On Display”, as well as Gorga’s new single “How Many Times”, both of which are
available on iTunes …
Speaking of TMZ worthy personalities, we bet you didn’t know that one of the more
infamous women ever featured on TMZ is currently living and working in Atlantic County,
after being involved a bloody beat down with a Z list television personality several
years back. That’s all we can or are willing to say at the present time, so as not to
provoke a repeat performance of said beat down …
Many of The Boardwalk Journal staffers are big fans of The Beastie Boys, who were
recently inducted into The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, and who recently lost founding
member Adam Yauch p/k/a MCA, who died from cancer at the age of 47. We would like to
acknowledge his passing and extend our condolences to his family, friends and fans …
