Direct Ion Storage Technology,<br />

Instadose, Read on a PC or Mac<br />

§ Instadose allows users to have the flexibility to view their radiation dose at any<br />

time from any computer with internet access. Readings via a PC or Mac are<br />

enabled by a USB compatible detector.<br />

§ When a user wishes to obtain a reading they simply log-in to their account, plugin<br />

instadose to a USB port and obtain their read. The accumulated dose stored<br />

on instadose is processed through a proprietary algorithm. Once complete a<br />

graphical representation of the current dose will load on the screen. Users can<br />

also view their cumulative dose level by clicking "View Cumulative Dose."<br />

I-131 Radioiodine Thyroid Uptake Study<br />

§ August 29, 2011, radioiodine thyroid ablation procedure<br />

§ Administered 26.2 mCi (1 GBq) Sodium Iodide @9AM<br />

§ Instadose and TLD badges worn on lanyard (facing thyroid)<br />

§ Instadose on neck was read approximately every hour during daytime<br />

hours<br />

§ Instadose on neck was read prior to going to sleep, placed on window sill<br />

approximately 1 ft. from couch<br />

§ Instadose read first thing in the morning and the process described<br />

above was repeated<br />

§ After the first week the Instadose was read approximately 2 or 3 times a<br />

day<br />

§ Instadose and TLD badges strategically located throughout house to<br />

monitor doses<br />

§ TLDs were processed on September 8, 2011<br />
