first earned and each of the following years. What I have done is to receive the applications
and if they are for a previous year and the individual does not have a medallion and bar I
will put that together and send it to him. If it is for the current year for which I do not have
a bar I will also check to see whether or not he has received the medallion and bars previously.
If he has, that will go into a pile and if he hasn’t that will go into another pile to be
dealt with at the end of the year. When I know how many current awards I will be dealing
with I will make the order for the appropriate number of bars and colors because there are
bronze, silver and gold colors. Once they are received I will put them all together and send
them out. What I would like to do at this time is to recognize those Royal Arch Companions
who may be in the audience. So would Curtis Banks, Ken Bates, Roger Chase, Maeto
Cabora, Harley DeShane, William Guiner, Barry Goldstein, Walter Hilsenbeck, Louis
Leone, Russell Perkins, Joseph Posefsky, Robert Sivdeo, William Thomas, Ricky Whitney.
These are the recipients who are present and recognized in the Royal Arch Convocation
and I ask that you salute them appropriately. Most Excellent Grand High Priest, thank you.
Most Excellent Jones asked if there were any other presentations to be made, for charities
or whatever. One of the things I might offer to you is that last night at the banquet the baskets
were raffled off and we got $1,018 for scholarships. I don’t know what we got from
“Old Saratoga” but I think it is somewhere around $580. Would Harvey Payne please come
to the front. Harvey stated that we met last night and initiated twenty new Companions in
that Order. The total collected for charity was $580. as you said. Most Excellent John Jones
thanked David Raymond, Harvey Payne and several others for making the Order of Old
Saratoga a big success once again. The Grand Master of Vermont was one of the candidates
and I guess he came out of it OK. James Zearfoss, representing the 22nd Capitular District,
approached the East and presented a check for the scholarship fund. He also told us that the
annual Most Excellent Osco W. Peterson Memorial Outdoor Degrees will take place at Raymond
Pond on Saturday, August 2nd. The Mark Master degree and Past Master degree will
be conferred and the Steak or Chicken barbecue to follow. Jerusalem Amity Chapter No. 8
presented a check for $1,000 to the research lab and scholarship fund. Curtis Banks presented
a check to the scholarship fund on behalf of the companions of the 1st Capitular District
Association and proceeds from their hospitality room. He also presented a check for the
scholarship fund on behalf of Most Excellent Wilbur A. Spencer Sr., Grand High Priest of
the Most Excellent Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Holy Royal Arch Masons, State of New
York and my counterpart the Most Excellent Albert J. Lewis, past Grand High Priest. Lastly,
I have been appointed the Downstate Most Puissant Eminent Sovereign Thrice Angled
Monarch of the Grand Everesent Righteous King of elite royal sovereigns of Gurgets and
present you with this check for the scholarship fund from this elite organization. Most Excellent
Jones thanked Curtis and said that he does a lot of work for Freemasonry in the community
of New York and it is greatly appreciated and what you are doing now between
Prince Hall and this jurisdiction is so important that I can’t even tell you how important it
is. The more the relations and communications go between Prince Hall and our jurisdiction
the better it is going to be for everyone. We appreciate whatever you do for us. Thank you.
Do we have any others. I always like to collect money. A representative of Constitution
Chapter No. 140 presented a check for the scholarship fund. Piers Vaughan, representing the
companions of Ancient Chapter No. 1, presented a $1,000 check for the scholarship fund.
Thank you so much and I haven’t seen you in a good long time and I appreciate all the work
you have been doing in building the foundation and working in the community of Masonry
in the State of New York and I congratulate you on your appointment to the Grand Line.
