<strong>Fact</strong> <strong>Sheet</strong><br />

<strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® is a quality control system for semen and an important tool for commercial and research oriented laboratories. With<br />

standardized, objective evaluation criteria and its archive and documentation functions, it is an effective mean to promote customer<br />

confidence in your laboratory.<br />

<strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® provides proven parameter settings for the analysis of multiple species: motility and concentration of ejaculates are<br />

quickly and easily analyzed and spermatozoa are color-coded as non-motile, local motile and progressive motile. There are additional<br />

seven subpopulations which can be analyzed with <strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® Professional. All data, including the image sequences, may be<br />

archived for quality control purposes or future analysis. <strong>Sperm</strong> morphology analysis is provided in several levels, and in <strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>®<br />

Automorphology secondary abnormalities are detected automatically. Automatic viability analysis is integrated or available as an<br />

option in several versions.<br />

The system can be fully integrated in the PRISM/IDA/IDEE programs for ejaculate management and processing. <strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>®<br />

Production can be upgraded to higher <strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® versions.<br />

The CASA system for the semen production lab. <strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® Production provides proven parameter settings for the analysis of one<br />

species (can be upgraded to all species). Several additional modules allow choosing the perfect solution for individual needs. A semen<br />

analysis report is integrated.<br />

<strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® Professional has user friendly export functions and can easily be interfaced with other lab management programs.<br />

Parameters for the analysis are fully customizable to meet individual needs. The included viability tool automatically analyses<br />

fluorescence stains, like red/green Propidium Iodide/ SYBR 14 viability stain. It detects and accurately measures the percentage of<br />

normal and damaged cells in the analyzed fields. The viability test can help to detect problem donors and sub quality ejaculates<br />

prior to semen shipment. Combined with the motility and morphology analysis, the viability analysis increases the level of quality<br />

assurance for each semen dose. The automatic sperm cell identification tool, facilitates morphology assessments based on 100x oil<br />

magnification.<br />

:::::::::::: <strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® Automorphology<br />

Contains the full functionality of <strong>Sperm</strong> <strong>Vision</strong>® Professional, plus an additional tool to automatically detect secondary sperm<br />

abnormalities: highly bent tails and proximal and distal cytoplasmic droplets. Secondary abnormalities of sperm cells are widely<br />

considered to decrease fertility of semen doses, especially in the swine industry. The examination is done with production line speed<br />

at the same time as the measurement of motility and concentration. The results are then automatically included in the ejaculate<br />

dilution calculation.<br />
