It was the year 1887 when Hubert Schmitz established a weaving
mill for special fabrics in Heinsberg. Four generations have
followed — always with new ideas. Over the years, this is how
German competence has developed in matters of protective
clothing: S-GARD ®.

GORE-TEX ® AIRLOCK ® Spacer Technology all have our well-tried, high-quality finish with many functional details.
Turndown collar with Velcro tab to adjust
width. Double cover panel up to the top of
the collar prevents liquids from penetrating.
Panic zip-fastener.
• The special cuff finish fixes all the layers firmly in the lower sleeve area, making
sure that nothing slips when putting the jacket on or taking it off.
• The TETRA suction barrier construction prevents moisture from penetrating — even
through the knitted cuff.
• Hem made of silicone-carbon-coated, flame-retardant, wear and abrasion-resistant
black KEVLAR ® material.
• The sleeves can be individually adjusted with 18cm long NOMEX ® knitted cuffs
with an integrated ITC system (individual thumb control).
• Hook and loop strap for optimal adjustment of the sleeve widths.

TI-Technology TM
With TI-Technology TM , both materials are processed separately instead of
mixing NOMEX ® and KEVLAR ® in the yarn. To improve even more the light
fastness, abrasion and wear resistance, NOMEX ® lies outside on the surface
of the fabric. Protected on the underside and joined firmly to the upper
fabric is a lattice made of KEVLAR ® , allowing the fabric compound to gain
from the excellent firmness.
In addition, the KEVLAR ® fabric is screened off from the unfavourable
effects of decomposition through ultraviolet rays.
If the layers of NOMEX ® und KEVLAR ® are exposed to heat and flames, the
thermal shrinking is different: air pockets form between the two layers,
known as „Active Air Entrapment“. This way, up to 25% higher heat insulation
is achieved than with other fabrics with a similar gsm substance.

SWISSGUARD
The S-GARD ® SWISSGUARD Firecoat …
... provides optimum safety and wear comfort, plus combining excellent material properties and
functionality with an attractive appearance. Another novelty is the cleverly worked out affixing of the
reflective strips: not only horizontally but also vertically on the arms and body. This so-called
“body language concept” (matchstick man) corresponds to the latest findings of traffic experts:
the reflective strips signal where the person wearing protective clothing will move to and how;
the silhouette is recognised 360 degrees. Already in the standard version, a channel system is
inserted in the jacket which makes it possible to introduce a Drag Rescue Device (DRD).
If a DRD is not inserted, you will get an additional two pockets.
