Bridges have been built of steel for over 200
years now. They are well-known for their pa-
tent durability and economic effi ciency, which
results for example from especially fast comple-
tion times. Manufactured and installed in just
4 weeks, the Walliswil footbridge, which cros-
ses the Aare River at Niederbipp in Switzer-
land, is an excellent illustration. Its supporting
structure consists of two connected frameworks
104 meters in length. It carries the footpath
itself, which is a lightweight structure construc-
ted from end plates.
JAKEM AG builds bridges for footpaths and
cycle paths, rail infrastructure walkways and
platform roofs, and pipe bridges for chemical
and pharmaceutical companies.

JAKEM AG has several decades of experience
in the high voltage pylon sector and is regarded
as an authority in the subject. For the power
industry, we fabricate equipment stands for high
voltage switching stations, pylons for overhead
lines and high-level mounting frames for outdoor
switching stations. Trial assembly takes place at
our premises prior to installation so that there are
no surprises when the structures are installed in
virtually inaccessible terrain.
