376 Regulations for Hackney-Coaches. At Edinburgh^ 19th June 1811." Which day. The Right Honourable the Lord Provost, Magistrates, and Council of the City of Edinburgh being assembled, they approved of the following Regulations for Hackney-Coaches as reported by the Magistrates, and appointed them to be in force, from and after the date hereof, until it shall be found expedient to alter these Regula- tions. General Rules to be observed for distances* Not exceeding Six furlongs One mile One mile and a half Two miles Two miles and a half Three miles IS11. •Three miles and a half - Four miles Four miles and a half Five miles Five miles and a half Six miles Six miles and a half Seven miles Seven miles and a half Eight miles Eight miles and a half L.
377 Not exceeding Nine miles Nine miles and a half Ten miles Ten miles and a half Eleven miles Eleven miles and a half Twelve miles Twelve miles and a half And so on at the rate of 9d. for every half mile fur- ther- L. s. All distances beyond three miles, and when the company shall consist of more than four, to be charged 6d, per mile, in addition to the preceding fares. General Rules according to Time.
