<strong>The</strong> Watchmen are to be on their respective Stations, in the<br />
monthst>f April to September inclusive, at 10 o'clock at night, and<br />
continue till .5 in the morning, and in the months <strong>of</strong> Oetol<br />
March inclusive, at 9 o'clock at night, and continue until 6 in the<br />
xaorning.<br />
iV. B. If the inhabitants are attentive to keep up their number in<br />
a legible state, it will be easy for the Publisher <strong>of</strong> this work to give<br />
the shortest and at the same time most accurate direction to their<br />
lodgings, even where these are within Closses, by inserting their<br />
name,' Street number, and interior number, all in a line, E. G. John<br />
Brown, No. 22, 11, High-street; thatis, kvCloss, Mo. 22, and No.<br />
11, within that Closs. And they will observe, that if they suffer<br />
their numbers to be obliterated, and do not immediately replace<br />
them, they incur penalties.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Engines for extinguishing fire, are under the mangement<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Commissioners <strong>of</strong> Police; keys for them to be found in the<br />
Police Office.<br />

sessing houses <strong>of</strong> L5. yearly rent, and upwards. <strong>The</strong> barony is<br />
divided into twelve Wards, under the inspection <strong>of</strong> the Commissioners.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Watchmen to be on their stations at 10 o'clock at night,<br />
and to continue until 5 o'clock morning, from April to September,<br />
inclusive, and until six o'clock from October till March, inclusive.—<br />
J he Sergeants on duty to patrole the streets alternately<br />
during the night. To pee that the Watchmen are doing their<br />
duty, the lamps burning properly, to apprehend suspicious or dis-<br />
orderly persons, all <strong>of</strong> which, is to be entered in a book for the inspection<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Master <strong>of</strong> Police in the morning, and the Commissioners<br />
at the weekly board.<br />
<strong>The</strong> funds are raised from the yearly rentr<strong>of</strong> subjects; rented or<br />
valued at L2. and under L4. Sterling, yearly, 6d. per i . Sterlings<br />
— L4, and under L6". 8d per do. L6. and under La lOd.<br />
at L9. and upwards, Is. per do.<br />
