2012 TightRope CCL Course<br />

This <str<strong>on</strong>g>course</str<strong>on</strong>g> will provide a didactic secti<strong>on</strong> covering of <strong>the</strong> TightRope CCL materials <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> technique, a step-by-step presentati<strong>on</strong> of<br />

<strong>the</strong> surgical technique, <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> presentati<strong>on</strong> of data regarding <strong>the</strong> clinical results of <strong>the</strong> technique from a prospective cohort (TPLO)<br />

study in canine patients. The lab period will include a dry lab dem<strong>on</strong>strati<strong>on</strong> of <strong>the</strong> technique by <strong>the</strong> instructor(s) showing <strong>the</strong><br />

technique as performed <strong>on</strong> sawb<strong>on</strong>es. The participants will receive h<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>s-<strong>on</strong> training in a wet lab period in which each pers<strong>on</strong> can<br />

perform <strong>the</strong> technique <strong>on</strong> a cadaveric canine stifle.<br />

Individuals signing up for this <str<strong>on</strong>g>course</str<strong>on</strong>g> should be comfortable <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> experienced with performing aseptic exploratory arthrotomy or<br />

arthroscopy of <strong>the</strong> canine stifle, as well as traditi<strong>on</strong>al cruciate stabilizati<strong>on</strong> techniques. Attendees are expected to underst<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong><br />

principles of <strong>the</strong> technique, indicati<strong>on</strong>s for using <strong>the</strong> technique, current evidence regarding clinical outcomes of <strong>the</strong> technique <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

A focused <str<strong>on</strong>g>course</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>on</strong> canine stifle arthroscopy with a combinati<strong>on</strong> of short, cutting edge lectures <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> two wet lab sessi<strong>on</strong>s spread<br />

over an eight-hour period. Lectures will cover stifle arthroscopy instrumentati<strong>on</strong>, maximizing intra-articular visualizati<strong>on</strong>, manipulati<strong>on</strong><br />
