FULMER NEWSLETTER - Fulmer Village

Valerie and Gary Hill who have moved from the Flat, High Meadows, to
Sandwich in Kent. Both have been actively associated with so many events at
High Meadows and as part of the Fulmer Church congretation.
Elin and David Swain who with Bethan and Emily have moved from Wisteria
Cottage, Fulmer Road to Windsor.
ACHIEVEMENT: We warmly congratulate:
Matthew Barham, son of Robert and Joan Barham of 11 Allhusen Gardens who
has been selected to train in football at the Reading Development Centre.
Have we a budding Beckham in our midst?!
Valerie Taylor, daughter of the Rev Bill Taylor, who came to live with his family
in 1966 at the Old Rectory, Windmill Road, when he was appointed Rector of
Fulmer, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree in Health Science from
York St John University in November 2010. The ceremony took place in York
Minster before a congregation of 3,000 graduates and visitors. Valerie was
awarded the Order of the British Empire in recognition of her outstanding work
in founding and sustaining the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed in
Savar, Bangladesh.
Paul, son of Brendan and Kay Keane, who had been working as a solicitor,
turned his back on the law and retrained as a junior school teacher.
His wife is also a teacher. Paul now works at Millbank Junior School.
I am sure many villagers will wish to join in wishing Greville Selby-Lowndes a
very speedy recovery from recent surgery – we look forward to seeing him
back home very soon – Editors.
ANDRIAN THEODOULOU
My husband was the first of four children born to Violet and Nicolas
Theodoulou in 1932. His father purchased Fulmer Place Farm in 1954
and moved his family on to the farm. We married in 1960 and lived in
New Denham and later in Uxbridge. We have two girls and six grandchildren.
Andrian worked alongside his brother, Victor, in the other family
business, H G Timber Ltd, all his working life.
We buried him in Fulmer Churchyard with his parents on his birthday 24
July. We all feel very sad at his passing and miss him.
