Development Sounding Board update September 2012 – January 2013
Dear Sounding Board Member,
Festival Housing is building Clarence
Park, a wonderful village and
lifestyle set around a superb range of
leisure and social amenities in
Malvern specifically for the over 55s.
This report gives an update on the Development of Clarence Park Village from the initial build
start in September 2012 until now – January 2013.
It provides an overview of the programme’s initial launch to our; local community and
stakeholders and regional partners. It will focus on 3 key areas:
• Start up events - the Build start and Launch
• Marketing activities
• Success indicators – registered interest to date
I hope you find this summary of progress to date informative and encouraging. If you have any
questions regarding the contents of this update please contact me directly. Naomi Steward,
Marketing Officer, Festival House. 01684 579430nsteward@festivalhousing.org
Festival’s village philosophy is to encourage residents to continue to be as active and
independent as possible in their own home, with the reassurance of tailor made support
available if required. The anticipated outcome of this housing provision will encourage social
opportunities and healthier living; and will hopefully reduce the risk of illness in later life.
Clarence Park Village will provide 101 spacious 1 or 2 bedroom affordable apartments. Of
these, 56 % will be for outright purchase (38) and (18) shared ownership, and 44% for
affordable rent (45) on a basic government pension.
Success of village interest
Interest in the village build has been highly successful since the launch to the general public
in October 2012. The aim is to develop a register of over 500 contacts by the end of August
2013. This registered interest will provide the appointed sales manager with a contacts
interested in village living.
