Terms and conditions<br />
1. The story must be between 1500 - 2000 words long.<br />
2. The story must be suitable for children aged between 10 – 15 years old.<br />
3. The competition is open to UK residents over the age of 15 (except as in note 13 below).<br />
4. The closing date for entries is 5.00pm on 31 December 2012.<br />
5. Entries are by email only to: stories@salcath.co.uk<br />
6. Entries need to be sent as a word document or pdf attachment.<br />
7. Please complete an entry form to submit with your story. We cannot accept submissions<br />
without the entry form.<br />
8. Your script should be typed/word processed on single-sided, clearly numbered<br />
A4 sheets.<br />
9. Include the title of your story on each page but no other identifying marks as your story<br />
will be judged anonymously.<br />
10. Only one story permitted per person.<br />
11. The prize-winner and runner-up will be telephoned by 16 January 2013 and their<br />
names will be published on <strong>Salisbury</strong> <strong>Cathedral</strong>, Orion Children’s Publishing and<br />
Cornelia Funke’s websites.<br />
12. No corrections can be made after submission.<br />
13. Employees of <strong>Salisbury</strong> <strong>Cathedral</strong> and Orion Children’s Publishing, or their family<br />
members, may not enter the competition.<br />
14. The judges are Cornelia Funke, Edward Probert (Canon Chancellor, <strong>Salisbury</strong> <strong>Cathedral</strong>),<br />
Sarah Rickett (Director of Learning and Outreach, <strong>Salisbury</strong> <strong>Cathedral</strong>) and Nina<br />
Douglas (Orion Children’s Publishing). The judges’ decision is final and no<br />
correspondence will be entered into.<br />
15. Judges will consider a range of factors including interpretation of the theme, use of<br />
language, atmosphere, appropriateness to the target age-group and originality.<br />
16. If the winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, we<br />
reserve the right to offer the prize to a runner-up or to re-offer the prize in any<br />
future competition.<br />
17. This competition is administered by <strong>Salisbury</strong> <strong>Cathedral</strong>.<br />
