Short Story Competition
Landmarks and Legends
Salisbury Cathedral is the setting for Cornelia Funke’s latest novel ‘Ghost Knight’. As part of
the celebrations this autumn marking the book’s publication, the Cathedral is running a short
story competition in collaboration with the award-winning children’s author and Orion
Children’s Publishing.
Just like Cornelia’s story, this short story (1500 – 2000 words) must be set in a real,
historical location and include some real characters from history and/or be based on actual
historical events or local legends (see terms and conditions over leaf).
Prizes
Winner
£100 worth of Orion Publishing books for the winner and £150 books for the winner’s school
or nominated school. The winning story will be published on Salisbury Cathedral, Orion
