Tilley Endurables the Canadian company long recognized as the maker<br />
of high quality outdoor hats, started in 1980 when Alex Tilley wanted a<br />
good hat for sailing <strong>and</strong> couldn’t find one, <strong>and</strong> decided to make one himself.<br />
He spared no effort, sought advice from a milliner, sailmaker <strong>and</strong> hat maker,<br />
<strong>and</strong>, as he says “got it right”. Only afterwards, when he saw that he had an outst<strong>and</strong>ing hat,<br />
did he decide to sell it through stores. The sale of the original hat, <strong>and</strong> expansion into a<br />
range of hats <strong>and</strong> travel ware, has benefited from Alex Tilley’s imagination <strong>and</strong> insistence<br />
on outst<strong>and</strong>ing quality.<br />
Tilley Tec-Wool Hat This wool hat uses C_Change technology to keep you warm<br />
<strong>and</strong> comfortable all winter long. C_Change is a waterproof <strong>and</strong> windproof material that<br />
permits water vapor to escape when the temperature rises but closes to trap in heat when<br />
the temperature falls. Tucked away ear warmers are ready to pull out for cold days. The<br />
lining is a quilted Hydrofil®. The brim is 23/4 inches on the front <strong>and</strong> back <strong>and</strong> 2 inches on<br />
the sides. The crown is 4 inches in the front <strong>and</strong> back <strong>and</strong> 41/4 inches on the sides. There<br />
is a security pocket secured by velcro in the crown in which a key, credit card or cash can<br />
be stowed. Ornamental wool hat b<strong>and</strong> sewn in with a leather loop on the side. Inside is a<br />
size equalization velcro strip that allows a minor size adjustment when the ear warmer is<br />
in use or not in use. Made of a wool blend with a C_Change laminate. Colors are Black<br />
