Marist College Enews MAY 16, 2012
The 2012 College inter-house Cross Country titles were held on a perfect
autumn afternoon. The event was held over the iconic Mt Taylor courses,.
The 12 through 15 years contested the 4.0km course whilst the 16’s and
seniors completed the arduous 5.6 km course.
It was great to see so many boys engaged in strenuous physical activity
throughout the event and this is a tremendous reflection on the Marist
culture, the house spirit and the work ethic of the College population. This
year saw five of the eight Houses come away with age champion category
trophy winners. But by the end of the day, McMahon was announced as
overall Champion House for the second year running. The outstanding
individual performance belonged to Patrick Jackson in the 16 years, with
a time of 19.26. This fell just 6 seconds short of the College record.
Thank you must go to all staff and parents who made the day possible.
Also congratulations to the boys on their enthusiasm and sportsmanship
which helped to make the day a very enjoyable experience for everyone
involved.
Running continues to be a strength of Marist College!
