ST. KYNEBURGHA’S JUNIOR CHOIR
As the weeks have progressed, the numbers attending junior choir have just grown and
grown! We have received so many compliments on the children's singing - for the
December family service, the Christmas tree event at the Village Hall and, of course,
the Christingle service. Thank you to all the children who attended and all the adults
who came along to support us.
Our next "performance" will be at the Epiphany service at 10.15 on Sunday January 6th.
The choir will meet again for rehearsals on Monday January 14th at 6pm in the Cedar Centre. All are very
welcome to attend and there are no age restrictions. Call Helen Boulton (380064) or Pam Tedcastle
(380510) for more details.
CASTOR SCHOOL WELCOMES INTERIM HEAD MARK RATCHFORD
As you may be aware, Fiona Perkins left our school in December to take up the position as
Head teacher at Eyrescroft Primary School in Bretton. We wish her well and thank her for the
contribution she has made to our school over the last two and half years. The recruitment
process is well underway to find our new head teacher and we will share news of our progress
within the magazine.
In the meantime, we are delighted to welcome Mark Ratchford, who will be our interim head during the
spring term. We very fortunate to secure this appointment and Mark will continue to lead his existing
school Glapthorn, near Oundle spending half of his time at Castor. Mark is looking forward to the
challenge of leading two schools, meeting and working with the staff, children, parents and wider
community of our villages.
