Missen laid the foundations of his<br />
career holding staff positions for <strong>The</strong><br />
Melbourne Age and Sydney Morning<br />
Herald. Heath departed the world of<br />
photojournalism to pursue his own<br />
commercial and editorial brand. Now<br />
travelling with 15 years of experience<br />
across the creative industries Heath<br />
Missen Photographer and Gallery is<br />
located at 10, 18 Centennial Circuit,<br />
<strong>Byron</strong> Bay.<br />
Heath regularly contributes<br />
portraiture, lifestyle, food, wine and<br />
travel images to national magazines,<br />
design agencies, commercial,<br />
individual and a growing stable of<br />
local clients.<br />
In 2009, Heath’s work w<strong>as</strong> shortlisted<br />
for the TPOTY international travel<br />
photographer of the year award. In<br />
the same year Heath w<strong>as</strong> nominated<br />
by Capture Australia for the top ten<br />
photographer awards. Through his<br />
years in photojournalism, Heath twice<br />
received the Melbourne Press Club<br />
Quill Award for Excellence in Feature<br />
and News Photography and w<strong>as</strong> a<br />
Walkley fi nalist.<br />
Heath’s personal works have been<br />
exhibited in New York, London,<br />
Melbourne and Sydney.<br />
Locally, Heath is delighted to<br />
announce a relationship with <strong>The</strong><br />
Channon Gallery who now exclusively<br />
represents his most recent body<br />
of personal analogue and digital<br />
CHRISTMAS EXHIBITION<br />
‘One Again’ is an exhibition of colour, vibrancy and high-quality<br />
works by artists from throughout the region, many local to<br />
Kyogle. Each year at this time the Roxy Gallery conducts an<br />
exhibition with gift-giving in mind. <strong>The</strong> works on display and for<br />
sale in this exhibition can be purch<strong>as</strong>ed and removed from the<br />
gallery prior to the closure of the exhibition, allowing people<br />
to organise their Christm<strong>as</strong> gifts in time . ‘Once Again’ will be on<br />
display until 28 January 2012, allowing plenty of time for people<br />
to stop into the gallery and admire the creative talents residing<br />
in our local area. A variety of works from photography, prints,<br />
drawings, ceramics, and fabric have been arranged to produce a<br />
very spectacular exhibition.<br />

BAREBONES ART SPACE<br />
Etchings are a form of printmaking initially used for illustration<br />
in books etc before photographic reproduction. During the<br />
process ink is rubbed into scratches made onto a metal plate.<br />

After any excess ink h<strong>as</strong> been wiped off , the ink plate is put<br />
through an etching press, in appearance not dissimilar to an<br />
old-f<strong>as</strong>hioned wringer. It squeezes the ink out onto damp paper<br />
and by repeating the process multiples of the same image can<br />
be made.<br />

well-known Australian artists such <strong>as</strong> John Olsen, Garry Shead<br />
and David Boyd, a stunning gift for Christm<strong>as</strong>.<br />
