List of the most known types of drugs<br />

as per the sole agreement on <strong>Drugs</strong> for 1961 <strong>and</strong><br />

the Protocol amend<strong>in</strong>g some of its provisions for 1972<br />

Attached to the agreement are four schedules on the psychotropic substances known globally; we<br />

<strong>in</strong>dicate below the most known:<br />

First – Schedule I:<br />

This schedule <strong>in</strong>cludes the products of particularities that cause addiction <strong>and</strong> are considered<br />

hazardous for the public health; the most known are:<br />

1- Cannabis, cannabis res<strong>in</strong> (hashish) <strong>and</strong> cannabis extracts<br />

2- Coca leaves<br />

3- Coca<strong>in</strong>e<br />

4- Concentrated poppy straw (substance extracted from the treatment of poppy straw to<br />

concentrate its alkaloids Aleconan).<br />

5- Opium<br />

6- Morph<strong>in</strong>e<br />

7- Hero<strong>in</strong><br />

8- Dezomorph<strong>in</strong>e<br />

9- Morph<strong>in</strong>e - N -Oxide<br />

10- Normorph<strong>in</strong>e<br />

11- Theba<strong>in</strong>e<br />

12- Methadone<br />

13- Normethadone<br />

14- Phentalyn<br />

Second – Schedule II:<br />

List<strong>in</strong>g the products less analgesic <strong>and</strong> less hazardous than those listed <strong>in</strong> Schedule I; the most<br />

known ones are:<br />

1- Code<strong>in</strong><br />

2- Norcode<strong>in</strong><br />

3- Pholcod<strong>in</strong>e<br />

4- Propiram<br />

Third – Schedule III:<br />

Includes the products which are less addictable than those listed <strong>in</strong> Schedules I & II:<br />

1- Code<strong>in</strong> products which drugs quantity does not exceed 100 mlg with a concentration of no<br />

more than 2.5%<br />

2- Propiram products which do not conta<strong>in</strong> more than 100 mlg/medical dosage.<br />

3- Coca<strong>in</strong>e products where the Code<strong>in</strong>e percentage does not exceed 0.1% <strong>and</strong> opium or<br />

morph<strong>in</strong>e products where the morph<strong>in</strong>e rate does not exceed 0.2%.<br />

Fourth – Schedule IV:<br />

It <strong>in</strong>cludes the products which are less risky <strong>in</strong> terms of addiction than the treatment benefits: The<br />

most known are:<br />

1- Cannabis <strong>and</strong> cannabis res<strong>in</strong> (Hasish)<br />

2- Hero<strong>in</strong><br />

3- Dezomorph<strong>in</strong>e<br />

4- Etorph<strong>in</strong>e
