THE LIMITED LEATHER PROCESS 6 OVERVIEW LIMITED SET MAIN SET The RSD Limited Set borrows from alot of RSD custom bikes, with the subtle merging of motorcycling heritage and modern components, creating the perfect combination of style and function. Our unique and exclusive waxed and oiled leather is utilized in a limited collection of riding jackets and accessories, plus we’ve combined classic materials such as US manufactured waxed cotton and functional wool. The goal was to create a line of riding and living apparel that offered excellent riding comfort and protection, without sacrificing everyday wearability even when you’re not riding. It’s what we consider the new vintage. The leather we use in our RSD Limited Set leather follows a unique, exclusive process that ensures a one of a kind, supple, yet extremely protective result. 1. For the main bodies we use all “A” Grade top grain cowhides that are tanned, dyed, and oiled. The jacket is then assembled, using all nylon thread, without the linings or trims. 2. From there the unfinished jacket is washed using our environmentally safe, proprietary washing process which softens the leather without losing critical tear, abrasion or tensile strength. Once washed and air dried (approximately 4 days), the garments then go to final assembly for linings and trims. 3. Once assembled, each jacket is then hand oiled and waxed, achieving a unique, “already broken in” custom finish that will wear and age beautifully, without sacrificing protection. The RSD Main Set brings a complete offering of riding and everyday apparel that combines functionality and style in every piece. The leather we use for our jacketsare all “A” grade cowhides, with light (but not too much) distressing, ensuring the perfect “just broken in” feel. Classic lines with a subtle twist make it RSD. We’ve also brought heavy duck canvas into the mix as functional riding gear, or perfect as everyday jackets. The Main Set combines the best of function and style -- just what we were looking for. Besides the Main Set jackets, we’ve created a complete line of everyday apparel with a collection of tees, thermals, hoodies, and headwear, uniquely RSD. Riding along with the apparel, our grouping of wallets, belts and travel accessories rounds out the package. Add in our line of gloves (that provide functional comfort and protection with classic styling and great fit), and we’ve got you covered.
DESIGN We design our apparel for riding, but with emphasis on a clean visual aesthetic and relaxed comfortable fit that can be worn on or off your bike. All day riding or all night out. FUNCTION RSD apparel incorporates functional details that make each jacket your favorite. Simple closures, adjustability options, and effective pocket solutions for every ride or every day. Our fit program ensures subtle ergonomic fit and functionality, while our armor ready styles provide pockets for RSD CE certified armor. FORWARD ROTATED SLEEVE OPENINGS FORWARD ROTATED COLLAR OPENINGS PRE-CURVED SLEEVES ARMOR READY POCKETS WAXED COTTON LEATHER TANNING We use only the finest available hides for our leathers, and require all our suppliers to be REACH compliant, plus AZO and PCP free. Each RSD leather jacket receives customized treatment and handling that gives every piece it’s unique, one of a kind finish, with an “already broken in” feel that usually takes years to achieve. INTERIORS The interiors of RSD jackets are built for comfort and function. Utilizing a luxurious poly satin they feel great, with secure pockets and cargo pockets that can carry enough stuff for an all day ride. SOFT LINED CELL POCKET POLY SATIN LINING Produced since 1930, Martexin Original Wax is a highly specialized textile treatment that precludes normal cleaning. Just as you wouldn’t’t wash a leather product such as boots, gloves, or jackets, you shouldn’t wash or dry clean your Martexin Original Waxed fabric. Wax fabrics have been successfully used for many years without washing, and periodic cleaning with a hose, or damp cloth is all that is needed. Bare areas can be retreated which will restore the wax finish.
