Allied Semen & Genetics
New options to enhance genetic value! That’s what Allied Semen and
Genetics are all about. These sires are offered by their breeders and
owners to the larger beef business because of their potential to generate
genetic progress and profits. Through a collaborative effort with ORIgen
Inc., Allied owners are promoting fresh, new options for sire selection in
2011. With a large number of SimAngus and ¾ Simmental bulls in addition
to high value purebred bulls, the Allied line-up has options for anyone
searching for genetic improvement and or outcross opportunities. We
have a solid combination of highly proven sires and new candidate bulls
with options to fit your needs for calving ease, growth, maternal traits
and or end product value.
The partnership with ORIgen Inc. is not by coincidence. Their motto of
“Breeder to Breeder” genetics fits with Allied’s goal to promote breeder
independence through cooperation. You’ll not find altered photos or
misrepresented performance information in this offering, just solid value.
These breeders stand by the reputation of their genetics because of
years of selection for the profitability traits that matter most and a firm
commitment to customer service. The combination of their years of experience
in the seedstock business with the reputation of ORIgen Inc. for semen
quality and health protection, you can be confident of the value and
quality of the semen distributed.
Thank you for considering the sires offered by the owners of Allied Genetic
Resources. We are proud of our first years line up of Simmental and
SimAngus bulls and hope you will find genetics here that can move your
program forward and your profitability to new levels. If you would like to
visit further about these sires or to order genetics, please call one of our
representatives or breeder owners.
At +$167 for All Purpose Index and +$84 for Terminal Index, you’ll find this bull near the top of all proven
SimAngus sires for delivering dollars back to the ranch regardless of your production system. With a +1.16 for
Marbling EPD and a multi breed Calving Ease EPD in the top 5% of proven sires, use Resurrection to improve
multiple traits and take advantage of the maternal strengths of RDDS Future Prototype and Bon View New Design
878. In fact, his dam has an average ratio at weaning of 107 with her bull calves averaging 128 and 108
ALUMNI was the overall top performance and ultrasound scanning bull from a very stout spring 2010 born calf
crop at South Dakota State University, ranking #1 in his contemporary group for adjusted weaning and yearling
weights and ranking #2 in his contemporary group for both %IMF and REA ultrasound scans. He handled heavy
breeding duties as a yearling bull at Cow Camp Ranch last spring, froze a good bank of semen during the early
fall and is currently breeding a large group of cows at Gibbs Farms. ALUMNI has been in his working clothes
since the day he was picked up at SDSU last spring and never really given a chance to develop and mature, but
you still must admire his heavy muscle, deep rib shape, great feet and legs, along with a striking profile. Ranking
in the top 1% of the breed for Marb, REA, Api and Ti, while still falling well into the top 10% of the breed for
CE, WW, YW, MCE, MM & MWW. He is the homozygous black and homozygous polled Shear Force son the
industry has been looking for.
Absolutely massive best describes FINALE. From the ground up, huge foot, enormous rib capacity, powerful muscle
and all packed into a mid-5 frame size. It is very rare to find a bull with this kind of massive look combined with
breed leading calving ease and low birth weight. His first calf crop of data came from the ASA Carcass Merit
Program as well as several breeder herds, assuring integrity and confidence to the EPD predictions. He is sired
by Final Answer, probably the elite bull in the Angus breed today, and out of one of the most productive cows in
the Simmental breed. His dam produced Dual Focus, the #5 bull in ASA registrations last year, along with several
other sons already in bull studs and most likely others to follow in the near future. FINALE is an overall genetic
package destined to be an industry leader.
NEWS FLASH - Kevin Thompson of TNT Simmental had five FINALE bull calves born in his spring 2011 calf
crop, two of the five being a set of twins. All five were included in his recent record setting 2012 Bull Sale, recording
the #1 and #3 ADG of all the black bulls in the sale and claiming the 2nd high selling bull honors at $15,000
and a sire group average of $8,900.
PIONEER is the dependable low birth weight, calving ease heifer bull deluxe. He has been used exclusively on
yearling heifers at Gibbs Farms for the past 5 years, consistently producing birth weights in the 50 lb. to 70 lb.
range out of SimAngus heifers. When you combine this kind of predictable calving ease and low birth weight
with well above breed average yearling performance, top 10% of the breed Marb EPD, and top 5% of the
breed MM EPD, it makes PIONEER the “slam-dunk” choice for large commercial heifer breeding projects. Take
advantage of breed leading calving ease confidence and hybrid vigor all in the same package.
High Bet was simply one of the best SimAngus bulls to surface in the spring of 2011. Sired by Dikemans Sure
Bet and out of a LT 598 Bando 9074 x Larks Canyon purebred Angus cow, High Bet is physically impressive and
brings forward advanced genetic value. With his profit values for All Purpose Index ranking in the top 4% and
Terminal Index in the top 1% of all SimAngus genetics and he will generate real value regardless of your production
goals. He is very easy to find when you prioritize structural soundness, balance and eye appeal as well.
His actual performance ratios were 103 at birth, 119 at weaning, 122 for IMF, 108 for REA and 122 for Scan
Wt. Whoever says you can’t have both impressive phenotype and breed improving genetic value just doesn’t
MCM Marbler 307N lived up to his name in the ASA carcass testing program where his progeny not only
excelled for marbling, but were one of the very best groups ever tested in the program for feed efficiency. His
progeny topped the average of the other sire group contemporaries for efficiency by nearly a pound less feed
required to achieve a pound of gain. With $6 dollar plus corn, that difference becomes more important every
day. 307N is a son of CA Future Direction that was tested genetically free from defects allowing you to use the
proven value of his sire without the challenges associated with using Future Direction himself. The combination of
Black Irish Kansas on the dam side and Future Direction has also created a sire that excels for maternal strength.
You’ll not find many bulls whose daughters can keep up with Marbler females for pounds of calf weaned. The
very popular MCM Top Grade 019X owned by River Creek Farms is an example of what the Marbler daughters
can produce. Marbler is homozygous black and polled and a great choice for outcross SimAngus genetics.
Deep bodied, easy fleshing, tremendous structure and with extra eye appeal. Efficiency is a SimAngus bull bred
with purpose. His genetic values show extraordinary spread from birth to yearling and breed leading values
for All Purpose and Terminal Index. When you combine his numbers with all that quality phenotype, you have a
package worth considering for the future of your program. Sired by CAR Efficient, he offers somewhat unique
genetics to the SimAngus gene pool and the added efficiency his name implies is part of it. Use Efficient to moderate
If you are searching for a blaze faced SimAngus bull that has amazing type and breeding value, Titus has that
kind of genetic punch! At -.9 for Birth Weight EPD, nearly +72 for Yearling Weight EPD and a breed leader
for Marbling, Titus is a great choice to produce high value black baldy females with more growth than you are
probably used to. His dam has raised 5 calves so far at weaning ratio 108 with an average IMF scan ratio of
116. The best part is the combination of Mytty In Focus and a great Nichols Legacy cow produces females that
grow fast, are deep bodied and attractive but retain a practical mature size and are destined to stay in the
Just to round out an awesome set of red bull options, there’s 642X. Jim Butcher decided to retain this bull in the
spring of 2011 to push his red program to the next level. 642X has that potential. He is a homozygous polled
outcross ¾ blood with incredible upside potential. His pedigree reads as follows, sired by GW Predestined
701T (GAR Predestined x GW Lucky Strike) and out of a TOSU Orlando x GW high Density 22E x Lchmn Lucky
Buck. That makes him an outcross to not only the population of red SimGenetics, but to most black SimGenetics as
well. Not only that, but how often do you find an outcross bull with a +$172 API and a +$89 TI that’s significantly
minus birth, top 10 % for YW EPDs, .94 for Marbling EPD and .64 for REA EPD, above breed average for
milk, oh, and physically powerful. He was also the #1 IMF and #4 REA Scanning bull among 141 contemporaries
at Gateway Simmental in 2011 and ratioed 110 at yearling. I guess all that is why Jimmy decided to keep him?
Talk about a great progeny proof, just look at Lucky Boy’s new EPDs. We consider our high value group of ¾
Simmental bulls to be comparable to purebreds from a percentile rank standpoint, because they can be used
on purebred cows to make purebred offspring, but whether you compare him to purebreds or hybrid averages,
he ranks in the top 1% for the API and TI dollar profit indexes. Lucky Boy is a homozygous black, homozygous
polled, non-spotting son of the growth and carcass sire GW Lucky Man 644N that sires substantially less birth
weight with the same powerful growth performance and carcass value. His progeny are deeper sided, easier
fleshing and more structurally correct behind than those sired by his popular sire and appear to be more
conservative for mature size. Ratioing 128 and 116 respectively for weaning and yearling weights among the
Gateway offering of 2009, he was the lot #1 and top selling bull in the GW sale. Lucky Boy does just about
everything right!
Breed leading genetic value out of one of the best Lucky One daughters in the breed. You might wonder how a
Lucky One daughter could get to +16 for Milk EPD, but she earned it. She has posted average weaning ratios of
117 and her Preferred Stock x Bold Future Dam has done one better at 118 average nursing ratio. Expedition
himself posted whopping ratios of 140 at weaning, 124 at Yearling and 126 for IMF. On the sire side, Dual
Focus offers the best of both Angus and Simmental genetics, making him one of the most highly used SimAngus
bulls in history. Use Expedition to advance profitability in this year’s matings. Posting a 151 and 84.5 dollar value
for API and TI respectively, he is a breed leader regardless of whether you compare him to the hybrid breed
leaders or the purebreds. Remember, ¾ blood sires are the ultimate outcross for purebred females to make new
820Y was renamed Substance for good reason, he is one rugged, stout structured, wide based bull with neatly ideal structure
and as big a foot as you will find. His performance, muscling and outcross pedigree led to several requests for Jim to add him
to his spring 2012 sale out of the keeper pen, and then propelled him to the top of the sale at $28,000. His sire, GW Premium
Beef 021TS is fast becoming the go to bull for calving ease, carcass and high value phenotype and his GW Mr Maternal x Red
Light x GW Broderick dam goes right back to some of the original foundation of the Gateway program. Use him on purebred
cows to generate great, new purebreds offering breed leading growth along with the calving ease and carcass value you expect
from this program. Substance ratioed 114 at weaning and 116 at yearling out of 120 bull calves in his contemporary group. He
is tested homozygous black and homozygous polled.
Semen will be sold in packages this first season, $1,000 for a 25 straw package, $1,500 for a 50 straw package. A limit of
1,200 straws will be sold this spring. He produced high quality, freezable semen before the first of March.
U238 (SAV Final Answer x TNT Hemi) and out of a black TNT Gunner cow and was the lead off and $31,000
top selling bull of the 2011 TNT bulls sale in North Dakota. Individually he was 107 at weaning, 109 at yearling
of the 2010 Gateway bull offering, he posted weaning and yearling ratios of 109 and 112 then ratioed 107
CCR Answer is simply one tremendous Angus bull. The unquestioned lead Angus bull last year at the Cow Camp sale, he offers
genetic improvement that is off the charts and physically, he’ll turn your head. Sired by the breed leader SAV Final Answer and
out of one of the best young Angus cows at Brunner’s, 7035W offers positive change for a world of traits. His dam has already
posted ratios of 109 at birth, 118 at weaning and 114 for yearling on her first two calves and ultrasound comparisons of 126
for IMF and 106 for REA. Answer currently ranks in the top 20 for marbling EPD in the entire ASA database among bulls at .4
accuracy or higher and among that elite group he is among the top 5 for All Purpose Index, because he offers so much more than
just marbling genetics. Use him to make right sized, stout progeny with extra depth of side, soundness and eye appeal.
Sired by OCC Missing Link and out of the leading Gibbs donor Jauer Doctor 7020 35, Top Link is a conservative
sized tank that is perfectly designed for use on continental females. Top Link promotes light birth weight genetics
coupled with a lineage designed to reduce production costs and make great cows. Consider him a great choice
to improve fleshing ability, moderate size and make the kind of females that are easy to market and even better
to keep.
BW EPD -8.7, YW EPD +69.8, Marbling EPD +1.04! If you set your search parameters anywhere near this EPD
combination in the ASA database, Daylite is the only bull you’ll find. Daylite was selected because his -8.7 BW
value makes him a fantastic choice for heifers, but he does so much else right too. Just as a bonus, he is physically
correct, striking on the profile and has above average muscling and base width. Not your average heifer bull
that’s for sure. A top son of the very popular and deceased MCC Daybreak and out of a Mytty In Focus daughter,
Daylite is stacked with a legacy of consistency and maternal value.
97Y is truly a calving ease and carcass leading spread bull with fleshing ability and eye appeal. Yellowstone
was the high selling black bull from the Hook Farms offering in 2012 and his potential to change herds genetically
for the better is nearly limitless. For starters he is well into the top 1% of the breed for API, TI, Marbling
and REA EPDs, ranks in the top 5% or higher among purebred bulls for Calving Ease, Birth Weight and Yearling
Weight EPD’s and in the top 20% or better for Weaning Weight, Milk, Maternal Weaning Weight, Docility, Carcass
Weight and Yield Grade. In fact, with the exception of Back Fat EPD, which just might make his daughters
easier fleshing, he is well above average for every single EPD trait he has listed. If all that wasn’t enough reason
to sample Yellowstone, he is one good looking young bull with outstanding depth of rib, thickness, length and has
a great soft look. So, no matter what angle you see his value from, he covers all the bases for making the next
generation better.
We believe this is his best son of WS Beef King to date and the data helps prove it. Breeders have come to expect
great performance, power and thickness from Beef King sons, but this one comes with breed leading calving
ease and is backed by one of the best red females in the breed! Yukon easily ranks in the breeds top 1% for
All Purpose and Terminal dollar value indexes for purebred bulls and ranks in the top 5% of the breed for Birth
Weight, Weaning Weight and Marling and Rib Eye EPDs. He is truly a spread bull with a wide range of mating
options to make better red cattle. His dam, Hook’s Mika has now produced Tom’s top selling bull two years in
a row with the Hook’s Xpectation bull doing it last year. His semen is also available through Allied Semen and
Old fashioned red power bull, in a good way! If you are looking for a homozygous polled red bull that will
absolutely add the extra pounds of performance you’ve been missing X263 is a great choice. Off the charts
for both Weaning and Yearling Weight EPDs and physically a powerhouse he was the RYMO Cattle Company
choice of an awesome set of Beefmaker sons to sell in the spring of 2011 at Dakota Express. With a unique
maternal pedigree, his potential to sire growth is a given and in demand for producers looking to add pounds of
weaning weight and feedlot performance genetics. X263 is the only purebred bull in the ASA database that is
above breed average for CE EPD, is over +100 for YW EPD and more than +.5 for both MB and REA EPDs! He
is off the charts for Terminal Index and in case you want to keep daughters, his maternal, All Purpose EPD ranks
in the top 2% of the Simmental breed. His outcross dam has an incredible record as well with 7 natural calves
averaging ratios of 108 for weaning weight, 111 for yearling, 105 for IMF and an impressive 112 for REA.
X263 is homozygous polled and his disposition is as quiet as you will ever find.
Sequoia is one complete red package! Fabulous EPDs, deep sided, sound, attractive progeny and proven pedigree
make him a safe and quality choice for homozygous polled red genetics. Out of the phenomenal maternal
and carcass sire Hook’s Shear Force 38K, Sequoia offers more growth performance and depth of body than his
famous father while boasting a +$131 API with Marbling and Rib Eye EPDs in the top 1% and 2% of the breed
respectively. In fact, he is the #10 ranking significantly proven purebred bull in the breed for Marbling EPD. The
Sequoia’s were my personal favorites in the 2011 Kenner Simmental bull offering and his potential as a maternal
sire is even better.
Here is a son of Nichol’s Manifest with more volume and end product value. The growth performance of Manifest
progeny is well documented. MF Straightforward adds to that legacy with less risk of extra birth weight and
more physical appeal for marketing. Rugged, thick and stout boned, Y9 just might be the purebred growth
enhancing bull many have been searching for. Only a few select bulls can post more than +50 for Weaning EPD,
+100 for Yearling EPD and still remain in the top 10% for All Purpose Index. Not surprisingly he fits solidly in the
top 1% of the breed for Terminal Index. He is tested homozygous black and polled.
maternal sister to PALEFACE demanded $50,000 from a group of top Simmental breeders, Rick Dunsmore of NLC
Simmental, Steve Eichacker of Eichacker Simmental and Tom Hook of Hook Farms, adding significant credence to the
fact that PALEFACE comes from a tremendous Simmental cow family.
LRS Big Country Time 82U is a true proven growth sire that can add length, size and quality to any set of calves.
Structurally his offspring are ideal with nearly perfect feet and joint design making them very physically attractive
as well as functional. He is an outlier too for service capacity and breeding performance. 82U has naturally
mated over 100 females in each of the last two 75 day breeding seasons at the T-Heart Ranch. His dam has
produced many of Lassle’s top selling bulls in past years and much of the donor battery at Lassle’s still traces
back to her. Big Country Time himself topped the 2009 LRS sale at $12,000 and his flush was the feature and
high selling group at the sale. His proven growth EPDs place him in the top 2% for Yearling EPD. His high rankings
for Carcass Weight, Marbling and Ribeye EPD, proven in the ASA Carcass Testing program, place him in the top
5% for Terminal Index of all purebred bulls evaluated. Use Big Country Time to return performance and power
to many of today’s lower growth pedigrees. If you’re missing some of the growth you expect from Simmental
genetics, try Big Country Time to add pounds and value.
Just like his name implies, Crimson Tide is destined to be a winner on the playing field. He was the second high
selling bull in a very strong Gibbs Farms Sale this past fall and most importantly, a true crowd pleaser. Crimson
Tide has the long, graceful stride of a cat, with wide-base, perfectly even foot placement, soundness so rarely
seen in young Simmental bulls with this much muscle. His soundness, heavy muscle, great rib shape and clean
neck extension makes him absolutely stunning on the move from any angle you observe him. A photo simply does
not do this great young sire proper justice. Genetically, he ranks in the top 1% of the breed for WW, YW, REA
and Terminal Index, along with top 10% for marbling, a rare combination of performance, muscle and marbling
potential. Combine all this with the fact that he has a striking blaze-face and a high performing dam, CRIMSON
TIDE should absolutely be included on every breeder’s “to use” list for this breeding season.
Outcross genetics with accelerated growth. For those looking for something new with predictability built in, Game
Plan has that unique combination. Game Plan offers the growth performance genetics you expect from the long
proven program at Heartland Cattle Co. and is Homozygous Black and Polled. His weaning EPD ranks in the top
2% of all purebred bulls and with calf prices where they are today, that means a lot of extra dollar return. Since
842X is one of the few bulls available with no Legacy in his pedigree, he provides some fresh mating options.
We hear from someone nearly every week asking for true outcross options, this is one of the few. Game Plan is
both homozygous black and homozygous polled and will bring muscle and power in one solid package.
651Y has the potential to take his now deceased sires place as the go-to, calving ease, problem free homozygous
black, homozygous polled purebred bull in the Simmental breed. Ellingson’s Legacy M229 had a well
deserved reputation for doing all that and adding muscle, maternal value and commercial appeal to his progeny.
651Y has that same potential with significantly more calving ease, lighter birth weights and more marbling
genetics. In fact, at +166, he currently is the highest dollar value purebred bull in the 2011 calf crop and the
#5 ranking bull over all purebreds evaluated in the ASA’s spring 2012 run. His combination of light birth weight
We’re all driven by it. And as our bottom line increasingly becomes influenced by product quality, we are moved to not only look
towards tomorrow, but for years to come, as our industry continues to meet consumer demands. The incorporation of carefully
selected proven bloodlines that promote strong calving ease, growth, maternal, longevity and -perhaps most importantly- carcass
traits, will positively affect our herds, as we strive to remain progressive. Hot Beef’s profitability index (API) will put you in the
driver’s seat towards being more profitable. Hot Beef is the product of a stacked pedigree for marbling, fertility and stayability.
His Sire, WS Beef Maker R13, is the top-selling red Simmental bull, three years running. His Dam is a beautifully-uddered Hart
Four Lane daughter, with a strong production record of 5/105 WW index and 5/122 Marbling index on her five calves. Both
Dam and Sire have marbling EPDs in the top 1% of the breed. Hot Beef indexed 188 for marbling, yet still scanned a 15.9”
ribeye. He currently is tied for 2nd among all purebred Simmental bulls for Marbling EPD and is in the top 20 overall for All
Purpose dollar value index. First calves are on the ground and look exciting! Numerous mating options are promising with his
outcross black pedigree. Homozygous polled and heterozygous black.
Onyx is a stud. Not many better ways to describe his physical appearance than that. He has dimension in every
x ½ Angus cows, the resulting progeny are registered as half blood SimAngus. Here is a young sire that
can make the next generation of composited seedstock better. He is genetically homozygous for both black and
polled.
