97Y is truly a calving ease and carcass leading spread bull with fleshing ability and eye appeal. Yellowstone
was the high selling black bull from the Hook Farms offering in 2012 and his potential to change herds genetically
for the better is nearly limitless. For starters he is well into the top 1% of the breed for API, TI, Marbling
and REA EPDs, ranks in the top 5% or higher among purebred bulls for Calving Ease, Birth Weight and Yearling
Weight EPD’s and in the top 20% or better for Weaning Weight, Milk, Maternal Weaning Weight, Docility, Carcass
Weight and Yield Grade. In fact, with the exception of Back Fat EPD, which just might make his daughters
easier fleshing, he is well above average for every single EPD trait he has listed. If all that wasn’t enough reason
to sample Yellowstone, he is one good looking young bull with outstanding depth of rib, thickness, length and has
a great soft look. So, no matter what angle you see his value from, he covers all the bases for making the next
generation better.
