8. The RESIDENT shall either contract with a licensed plumber and electrician<br />

or may elect to do the plumbing work himself if the property is a valid homestead.<br />

The CITY REPRESENTATIVE will provide an Application for Building Permit<br />

Document necessary to obtain the electrical and plumbing permits, which require<br />

the RESIDENT’S signature. The RESIDENT/PLUMBER/ELECTRICIAN shall<br />

then acquire permits from the DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT.<br />

9. The RESIDENT/ELECTRICIAN shall set the electrical disconnect switch at the<br />

grinder pump control panel location and provide conduit and wiring to the<br />

disconnect switch. The RESIDENT/ELECTRICIAN shall then request a final<br />

electrical inspection from the DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT. The<br />

DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT will inspect, final out the work and provide the<br />

RESIDENT/ ELECTRICAN with a blue card as pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> final electrical inspection<br />

and approval.<br />

10. The RESIDENT/PLUMBER shall then uncover the sewer line at proposed<br />

points <strong>of</strong> grinder pump connection. This is necessary to allow the<br />

CONTRACTOR to determine the amount <strong>of</strong> fall required and the depth <strong>of</strong> the<br />

grinder pump installation.<br />

11. The RESIDENT shall then contact the CITY REPRESENTATIVE and inform<br />

him that the electrical work has been completed and approved; that the Plumbing<br />

Permit necessary to connect the house into the grinder pump and abandon the<br />

septic system has been issued and that they are ready to have the grinder pump<br />

installed.<br />

12. The CITY REPRESENTATIVE will conduct a site inspection; verify that the<br />

electrical work has been properly inspected, that sewer tap and impact fees have<br />

been paid, that there is a valid plumbing permit present and that the site is ready<br />

for the CONTRACTOR to begin grinder pump installation work.<br />

13. The CITY REPRESENTATIVE will then issue a notice to proceed to the<br />

CONTRACTOR.<br />

14. The CONTRACTOR shall install the grinder pump and discharge line and<br />

shall connect the grinder pump control panel to the electrical disconnect switch.<br />

15. The CONTRACTOR will then request a final electrical inspection from the<br />

DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT. The DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT will<br />

inspect, final out the work and provide the CONTRACTOR with a blue card as<br />

pro<strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong> final electrical inspection and approval.<br />

16. The CONTRACTOR/EI2 will then water test the pump and discharge line.<br />

Upon successful completion <strong>of</strong> testing the CITY REPRESENTATIVE shall<br />

compile a punch list for any clean-up and restoration work required by the<br />

CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR and RESIDENT shall acknowledge receipt
