You have already entered one of the greatest and toughest competitions for law students out there. However, do not underestimate the second
great chance the Moot gives you: meet hundreds of people, make dozens of friends and a few that might last a lifetime. We are here to make this

What is new compared to last year?
(1) Note that some of the venues have changed: the nightly Bar will be at Muse, the Welcome Party (Sunday) will be at Azure. The Farewell
Party will take place at Armani Privé.
(2) We have shortened the program leading up to the Announcement of the Finalists. Please make sure that you arrive at the time indicated
below.
Do I need to book anything in advance?
Some of our events require prior registration through our website www.maa.net.
These are: (1) Our Generations in Arbitration Conference (“GIA VII”) on Sunday, (2) the MAA Antique Tram Tour on Wednesday and (3) the
MAA Farewell Party on Saturday.
What is the first thing I have to do?
Come to our MAA Welcome Party on Sunday night. At the end of this document, you will find flyers which you can copy, distribute among your
team and put into your pockets.

What? Since its early years, there has been a MAA Moot Bar where teams, coaches and
arbitrators meet over drinks when there is no Official Function of MAA Event.
This year, we look forward to welcoming you at Muse located in
heart of Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong’s hottest place to party.

*The club and bar scene is subject to random checks by Hong Kong police. This is not a
big issue and, if it happens, it is over within minutes. It is, however, mandatory to carry
an ID (passport, HK ID, driver’s license) and you will not get in without one.

MAA Generations in Arbitration VII
The 7th Annual Generations in Arbitration Conference sponsored
by King & Wood Mallesons will take place on Sunday, 10 March
2013. This year's theme is: Bridging the Cultural Gap: the Evolution & Harmonization of Arbitration
Practices. We promise that this will be worth everyone's time given this year's topics [which include a debate
on Article 96 of the CISG and a panel on the importance (or lack of) cross-examination with a mock crossexamination].

What? This is traditionally the first social event of the Vis Moot and a great opportunity to meet the other teams,

What? This is the official grand opening of the Vis Moot (East) at a very distinct
location. After the opening address and welcome speeches you will have
the opportunity to mingle with other teams, coaches and arbitrators while
enjoying a glass of fine wine and finger foods.

General Rounds – Day #2
MAA Antique Open-Deck Party Tram Tour
What? One of the most Hong Kong ways to get around is the HK Tramways. Come
aboard one of our two exclusively booked historic double-decker open-top
party trams, and enjoy the ride through the buzzing night time streets of Hong Kong. Bring your own drinks.
Where? Whitty Street Tram Depot – Hill Road Entrance/ Connaught Road West (Hong Kong Island)
Please take a taxi, and show this to driver: 香港電車有限公 or simply use the QR-code on the flyer
to show the driver the location of the tram depot.
When? 6.15 pm sharp
You can exit the tram half-way with us and join for horse races at the famous Happy Valley racing track (see
next page).
Cost? To recover our costs, we ask for a contribution of € 11 (~ HK$ 113 or US$ 14.50) per passenger

MAA Visit to Happy Valley Horseracing
What? One of Hong Kong’s finest attractions and a must-see for
every visitor are the night time races at Happy Valley. It’s a
fun time even for those who are no horse and gambling
enthusiasts. The atmosphere is casual, you can have a
drink, some Cantonese barbecue (or McDonalds), and bet
your pocket money starting at a mere HK$ 10 (~US$ 1.29).
Very friendly guides will even explain the betting cards to
you.

Where? Happy Valley Racecourse
public entrance at Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley
Take a tram towards “Happy Valley”, exit at the end of the line. Alternatively, take MTR to “Causeway Bay”,
Exit A, and follow the signs to the racecourse. If you are on the MAA Antique Open-Deck Party Tram, you
can just follow one of us.
When? The first race starts between 7 and 7.30 pm. Last race
starts at around 10 pm.
Cost? Only HK$ 10 door charge if you have an Octopus Card.
Dress code? None whatsoever. Horseracing in Hong Kong is very
popular with the general public.

Sunset Boat Trip & Seafood Dinner
What? Lamma Island, also known as Pok Liu Chau or simply Pok Liu, is the third largest
island in Hong Kong. The trip to Lamma Island during sunset is unforgettable. So is the
Seafood Dinner on Lamma Island.
Where? Central Piers, to the Rainbow Restaurant on Lamma Island (see official instructions for details)

When? 5:15 pm - 10 pm
Costs? Advanced reservation and payment required: HK$ 280 at Vis Centre
Attire? Please wear flat, non-marking rubber soled shoes for the boat trip, and
avoid bringing bulky bags and packages. You may need a sweater or light
jacket for the return trip. High heels are not recommended. Come dressed
to be ready for the MAA Farewell Party straight after the return!
