IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ CAREFULLY<br />
Please order by completing & returning this order form by email to clivia@xtra.co.<strong>nz</strong> or simply email the item numbers and<br />
quantities required. Orders will be filled on a “first come, first served” basis strictly in order of receipt. Because of the cost of<br />
packaging individual <strong>seed</strong>s, there is a minimum order of 3 <strong>seed</strong>s per variety ordered.<br />
Kindly provide your NAME and POSTAL details on the final page of the order form, or by some other means.<br />
Note that there is a 2-step ordering process. 1. On receipt of orders, we will confirm availability in terms of our estimate of the<br />
<strong>seed</strong> available. (Be patient as it may take a few days for us to process and confirm the initial orders) 2. The <strong>seed</strong> will only be<br />
packaged and posted in June. At time of posting we will email a final confirmation of the actual <strong>seed</strong> posted, clarify any<br />
discrepancies, and request payment.<br />

SOUTH AFRICAN PEACH STRAINS AND CROSSES<br />
CHUBB'S PEACH STRAIN (Compatible with Group 1 yellow)<br />
All parent plants are F1 to F3 Chubb's Peach strain. Expect 100% unpigmented <strong>seed</strong>lings,<br />
some split for yellow (Heterozygous), some with green throats. A small percentage will flower<br />
yellow.<br />

An interesting strain started by the late Nick Primch, the original promoter of the <strong>Clivia</strong> Society. It<br />
seems to breed true and to my mind is more impressive than Chubb's Peach. (See <strong>Clivia</strong> News<br />
Vol.19 No.2 pages 31-33)<br />

anthocyanin pigments by repeated crossing with yellow. Many pastels are therefore split<br />
(heterozygous) for yellow and will produce a percentage of yellow offspring.<br />

The cross of two of my best group 1 yellows - John's Lime from the breeding of John vd Linde<br />
using Nakamura material. Pride of Stellenbosch bred by us from material from Jom Holmes.<br />

The cross of miniata/gardeii interspecifics selected for their flower form - large tubular flowers with<br />
a distinctive flair at the tipe and umbels with a high flower count - our ideal<br />
26 Harburg crosses - (Group 1 yellow miniata X gardenii Harburg Yellow Blush) X same or yellow<br />
miniata/caulescens interspecific.<br />
Expect 25% yellow progeny. We're uncertain of the effect of the Harburg Yellow Blush on the<br />
colouring of other than yellow.<br />

Something different - Ngome gardenii/robusta Caroline's Pride X Caroline's Pride<br />
The cross of Ngome gardenii with Carolinie's Pride has resulted in large robust plants with umbels<br />
with a high flower count of similar large pendulous flowers. The Ngome gardenii used include<br />
First Light (yellow); Ngome Pink and Ngome Peach. Caroline's Prode is a near white C robusta<br />
with green tips and by using it as the pollen parent should see the near white coming through in a<br />
percentage of the progeny.<br />

28 Giddy's Yellow/Charls Green (orange) - sibling cross 100 $2.00<br />
The orange parent plants are F1 hybrids of Giddy's Yellow (group 2 yellow) with the renowned<br />
Charl's Green (Green throated near-white interspecfic (Miniata/gardenii X same) The sibling<br />
cross of the F1 hybrd could see the recovery of the Charl's Green but bear in mind that this is<br />
digging into interspecific genes rather than a specific colour gene.<br />
