Report from the Board Chair and Executive Director
KidsAbility Foundation
KidsAbility Foundation is dedicated to raising both
financial support and public awareness in support
of KidsAbility. Donations continue to be a critical
source of funding for KidsAbility.
Our 2009/2010 Kid’s Can’t Wait Campaign raised
over $1 million. A very special thank you is extended
to our incredible Kid’s Can’t Wait Ambassadors Kelly
Zehr, Sydney Brown and Sydney Charron. Our young
ambassadors and their very supportive parents were
a tremendous asset to our team, sharing their stories
of hope and joy.
Our 5th Annual Kid’s Can’t Wait Radiothon was
held on April 16, 2010 at Conestoga Mall and raised
over $225,000. A big thank you to everyone at 96.7
CHYM, KIX 106.7, 570 News and Rogers TV and
daytime for giving us this wonderful opportunity
to highlight our important services and to raise much
needed funds. Through the generous support of our
community more children and youth have access
to the high-quality care and support that they need
to reach their potential through a dedicated and talented team of specialists at KidsAbility.

We continue to work towards building a $10 million Endowment, aimed
at providing a necessary source of annual income that will contribute to the longterm
financial stability of KidsAbility. Over $5 million has been pledged
to the Endowment as an investment in our community that will help KidsAbility
meet the needs of local children and their families today and tomorrow.
The KidsAbility Foundation Board of Directors moved forward with some
strategic initiatives that included engaging our current and prospective donors to
seek their valuable insight into the work of the Foundation. The results
of these focus groups will help shape our future fundraising initiatives and
will ensure we are meeting the needs of our donors. Special thanks to all
of the participants and to Paula Stanghetta for donating her time and talents
to facilitate and shape these sessions.
Our annual President’s Reception in December provided us with the opportunity
to honour Elaine Ormston with our prestigious Outstanding Supporter Butterfly
Award for her dedication and support of the Foundation. This award has been
aptly renamed the “Elaine Ormston Outstanding Supporter Butterfly Award” in
recognition of her passion and dedication to our kids.
To the Board of Directors who have served our community over the past year, we
thank you for your leadership and commitment to our mission.
From all of us and especially the kids, we thank each and every one of our donors
for making a difference in the lives of the children and youth who
receive services at KidsAbility.
