Retread is a cold in-situ recycling process, with
over 30 years proven performance on UK
carriageways and footways.

procurement, Colas’ Retread process offers a
low carbon alternative. By reducing the output
of energy, emissions and waste, Colas are able
to aid clients in significantly lowering their
carbon footprint.
Vegecol
Vegecol is an environmentally-friendly plant
based binder stemming from renewable
agricultural products. Manufactured as an
innovative binder with renewable plant based
raw materials, Vegecol is enabled to remain in
line with sustainable development by providing
a sustainable and renewable replacement for
bitumen. By lowering the temperature at which
mixes are manufactured Vegecol helps save
energy, while reducing greenhouse emissions.
Vegecol requires roughly 40ºC less than
conventional mixes, which means major
energy savings.
Repave
Repave is a hot in-situ recycling process used
for the rejuvenation of worn out roads and
airfield pavements. With 35 years proven
performance Colas’ Repave process is approved
for use under the clause 926 of the Specification
for Highway Works.
With quantifiable reductions in emissions, waste
and energy consumption, Colas can significantly
reduce the carbon footprint of transport
infrastructure projects.

Fibredec is a unique combination of bitumen
emulsion, chopped glass fibres and aggregate.
The process is applied through specially
designed and patented equipment where glass
fibres are distributed between two layers of
binder, offering enhanced strength and durability.
Applicator vehicles have been developed to
accommodate for both large areas and sites
with restricted access. In addition to extensive
engineering benefits Fibredec provides clients
with a high quality prestigious finish that
compliments the external environment.
