Andy Jewell’s ‘63 “Doom
and Gloom”
Andy’s car was featured in VolksWorld
many years ago. He’s owned it for over
ten years and has kept it in top condition
whilst still managing to evolve its look.
Various engines have made way for a hot
1914cc unit, a real OldSchool ripper with
it’s lairy 125 cam, straight cut gears, IDAs
and 3-inch muffl er. A Pro Street 1500 ratio
box allows easily illegal cruising speeds.
With its powder coated black original Sprint
Stars, black T-bars and beard seats this car
is super stealthy. A narrowed 2-inch beam
is the latest addition. It also has an original
EMPI steering wheel, period dash plaque
collection and original EMPI oil sender all of
which make up the club’s ‘staff car’.
Tim Cooper’s white ‘63
“Grand Tourer”
With its 2165cc Street Eliminator headed
IDF motor, combined with a long ratio
uprated gearbox, Tim’s car is a real longdistance
cruiser. Tim attended Das Drag
Day in 2005, a round trip of 1000 miles or
so, then the next weekend did it all again
for SPA. White paintwork, Enkei five, T-bars
and Cal Look rubbers tip a subtle nod to
the 70’s. It’ll pull a 14 second quarter.
‘Big’ Pete Holloway’s
white ‘66 Rocket
A 4-inch narrowed front beam, 6-inch
Fuchs gets this ‘66 sitting nicely in the club
line-up. Watch out for it at the next set of
lights when Pete nails the 2332cc it rocks!
With a current 1/4 time of 13.0 on M/H
tyres, he can fl ex the 1.04/3.88 pro comp
box on any given occasion. Traction is
aided by CDS tubing to the frame forks with
solid mounts and pre-load is helped by
modifi ed handbrake/launch control set up
linked to the Mallory ignition. 10.3.1 comp
ratio and a 3-inch muffl er keep it thumping!
Neal Anderson’s ‘56 Oval
“The Black Bomber”
Another VolksWorld featured car, this RHD
sunroof has roaring IDAs when it rolls.
Sporting polished hex T-bars, Pro Drag box
and 2276cc motor this award winning ‘56
still looks fresh 10 years later. Scratch built
4-inch narrowed beam, 6-inch Fuchs all
round and short axles all help the classic
stance. Interior features stock style retrim,
Berg locker and full Autometer gauge set
up. Konis, AVO coil overs, F&R roll bars155
front and 205/65 tyres, keep it on the
tarmac!

Dore’s Red ‘61 stomper
Starting with a nice original car, James
added a 4-inch narrowed beam (requiring
