Population science
encompasses many
disciplines. Convened under
the broad umbrella of public health
science, population scientists take an
epidemiological approach to research by
amassing the greatest possible amount of
evidence on a topic and using that data —
meticulously analyzed and verified — to
determine patterns and trends. Applied
to health care, the goals of population
scientists are achieved through the dissemination
of their findings beyond
the research community, to prevent
disease, improve clinical care, and
enhance the quality of life.
