Introduc<strong>in</strong>g <strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong><br />

High-Bandwidth (HB)<br />

Dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> past two years, customers<br />

have expressed <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> collect<strong>in</strong>g very<br />

high frequency data at <strong>the</strong> full 100 KHz<br />

us<strong>in</strong>g a high bandwidth anti-alias filter.<br />

DTS successfully modified <strong>the</strong> exist<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> DAS architecture to accomplish<br />

just this. The <strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> HB DAS (High-<br />

Bandwidth) has an adjustable anti-alias<br />

filter with a maximum -3 dB po<strong>in</strong>t of<br />

45 KHz. Applications <strong>in</strong>clude blast<br />

test<strong>in</strong>g and airbag sound and pressure<br />

measurements. The <strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> HB is<br />

identical to <strong>the</strong> standard <strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> DAS<br />

<strong>in</strong> every o<strong>the</strong>r way and has been shipp<strong>in</strong>g<br />

to customers s<strong>in</strong>ce third quarter 2007.<br />

<strong>New</strong> <strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> Module<br />

Dock<strong>in</strong>g Station<br />

In response to customer need for <strong>the</strong><br />

most compact sensor <strong>in</strong>terface to<br />

<strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> DAS modules, DTS has created<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> Module Dock<strong>in</strong>g Station<br />

(MDS). The <strong>TDAS</strong> <strong>G5</strong> MDS uses microD<br />

connectors: one 25-p<strong>in</strong> connector for<br />

Power/Control and four 51-p<strong>in</strong> sensor<br />

connectors (one for each eight channels).<br />

Applications to date <strong>in</strong>clude <strong>in</strong>stallations<br />

<strong>in</strong> aerospace test<strong>in</strong>g and race car chassis.<br />

to our North American Michigan office,<br />

experience work<strong>in</strong>g<br />

circuits along with<br />

a concentration <strong>in</strong><br />

quality and ISO<br />

standards. Dur<strong>in</strong>g<br />

his time with <strong>the</strong><br />

US Navy, Jim was<br />

responsible for<br />

multiple mission<br />

critical systems<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g air traffic control radars and<br />

SHF satellite communication systems.<br />

Jim plays a significant part of <strong>the</strong><br />

cont<strong>in</strong>ued success <strong>in</strong> North America,<br />

specifically <strong>the</strong> mid-west region, and<br />

offers DTS new skills and experience<br />

that enhance our world renowned<br />

technical expertise.<br />
