There will be two strands of terminological modernization of <strong>Luganda</strong>: systematic<br />
Lugandization and systematic extrapolation of affixes. Systematic Lugandization will<br />
consist in adopting and adapting a Greco-Latin mode of spelling and pronunciation. For<br />

(-)nna- will be standardized. A disyllabic noun PS will be treated like a stem for the<br />
purpose of terminological modernization e.g. (o)mubantuwano “society”.<br />
It is assumed that both alternative strands will meet with approval of <strong>Luganda</strong> speakers of<br />
both parochial and international mindsets. For example, it will be interesting to see who<br />
will accept kannabantuwano or sosiologia “sociology” in the light of the PEGITOSCA<br />
and CLECC criteria.<br />
