Both Wherries Nights were a huge success with the boys playing to a
capacity audience. Thanks to Ken and Dave for a very entertaining evening.
Thanks also to the supporting band, the Ten Gallon Bratz.
The Grand Hogmany Party with Reely Jiggered was another great night
with a capacity audience. With the toe tapping music the dance floor was
crowded for each number. Thanks to Reely Jiggered and to Paddy and Eileen
for making the night special. The Hogmany Raffle for the biggest bottle
(4.5 litres) of whisky you have ever seen was won by a teetotaller.
The New Years Day Swim was a great success and seems to get busier
every year both in the water and in the bar. Approximately 30 swimmers
took to the water for varying lengths of time. Photos taken by Tommy
O’Brian from the rescue boat manned by Phil Allan.

Last month’s cadet party was a resounding success and a great time was
had by all. The band “Aspen 50” started off the night followed by young
Stephen Keenan and Amelia Spragg who gave some very crowd pleasing
performances. Food was provided to the cadets on behalf of the club, after
this there was karaoke and a most memorable performance from Stephen
Keenan and Malcolm Andrews that got every one up on the dance floor. A
huge thanks goes to Stevie Keenan (the old yin) whose karaoke set, amps and
lasers really made the night the success it was. This was the first event to
be organised by the new cadet committee and we are hoping our next will be
just as successful. (report by Cadet Malcolm Andrews)
