Hagley Library Fiftieth Anniversary - Hagley Museum and Library

All of our Christmas decorations
are created by a talented team of staff
members and volunteers. Inside the
Residence, staff member Chris Metzler
leads her volunteers in the creation of
new decorations each year using many
materials grown on our property. Our
collections and exhibition staff, led by
Debra Hughes, uses precious historic
items from our collection to fill the
home with sparkle and shine. Outside
of the residence, Horticultural Associate
Renee Huber tends and cultivates
Douglas fir, varieties of spruce, holly
and pine, along with cockscomb, dusty
miller, blue salvia, migella, hydrangea
and ornamental grasses to be used in
decorating the fabulous greenery that
decorates our property throughout
December. For more than twenty years
these efforts have been supported
by dedicated volunteers from the
American Association of University
Women (AAUW) and the Garden Gate
Garden Club of Wilmington. Come
see the wonderful work of our talented
team and celebrate the holidays with us
at Hagley.

the Eleutherian Mills
Residence
Enter using Hagley’s main
entrance off Route 141.
Hagley is open daily
for Christmas activities
(except December 25)
from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
through January 1, 2012.
The first bus leaves from
the Visitor Center at 10 a.m.
and the last bus at 3:30 p.m.
The display is included in
the cost of admission and
free for members.
