Reminder: <strong>The</strong>y claim that the Sufi order is based upon the Qur'aan and <strong>Sunnah</strong><br />

and that, "<strong>The</strong> path is not monasticism!" Nuh Ha Mim Keller said, "<strong>The</strong> main<br />

emphasis <strong>of</strong> Sufism" is "the attachment <strong>of</strong> the heart to <strong>Al</strong>laah" (w9.4, p. 863).<br />

Maybe Nuh Ha Mim Keller would like to find a real interpretation <strong>of</strong> his master's order,<br />

because the non-Sufis are only the people <strong>of</strong> Ath-Thaahir!!<br />

Just a "mistake": <strong>Al</strong>—Sha'raani (Ash-Sha'raanee) said describing Abul Hasan Ash-<br />

Shaathili, "He <strong>wa</strong>s <strong>of</strong> a great status, having a high mark showing the <strong>wa</strong>y to<br />

others)...Ibn Taymeeyah put the notch <strong>of</strong> the arrow upon the bow string to shoot him<br />

(i.e. Abul Hasan) but he made it come back at him." 256<br />

<strong>The</strong> point to remember here is that Abul Hasan Ash-Shaathili died in 656/1258, five years<br />

before Shayekh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah <strong>wa</strong>s born (661/1263)! Was this by the <strong>wa</strong>y <strong>of</strong><br />

Kashf? It seems that Ibn Taymeeyah <strong>wa</strong>s a constant worry on the minds and hearts <strong>of</strong><br />

the innovators, may <strong>Al</strong>laah's Mercy be upon him.<br />

Ibn 'Ataa' Illaah describes the state <strong>of</strong> the one, "Who has no choice in saying what he<br />

<strong>wa</strong>nts in a Sufi thikr." He said: "He may utter (the<br />

from this mess <strong>of</strong> Sufism and abandon his defense <strong>of</strong> it. It is to be done for no one's sake<br />

except for <strong>Al</strong>laah alone.<br />
