TRADITIONS<br />

Are you kidding!?! This is SEC football; <strong>of</strong> course <strong>the</strong>re are traditions! SEC football<br />

means great games against Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, V<strong>and</strong>erbilt,<br />

Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi <strong>and</strong> Mississippi State. And <strong>of</strong> course<br />

we always play our rival, Clemson! Although a lot <strong>of</strong> traditions do coincide with<br />

football, <strong>the</strong>re are many o<strong>the</strong>r traditions that are unique <strong>to</strong> USC that does not<br />

revolve around athletics.<br />

Official Nickname: Fighting Gamecocks (Shortened <strong>to</strong> ‘Gamecocks’<br />

<strong>and</strong> ‘Cocks’)<br />

Colors: Garnet <strong>and</strong> Black<br />

Mascot: Cocky<br />

Cockaboose Railroad: The most unique form <strong>of</strong> tailgating Just behind<br />

<strong>the</strong> south end zone st<strong>and</strong>s at Williams-Brice Stadium sit 22 real train<br />

cabooses, all <strong>of</strong> which have been renovated <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> hilt <strong>to</strong> provide an<br />

almost luxurious tailgating experience. Each Cockaboose has a sun<br />

deck where fans grill out, party, <strong>and</strong> listen <strong>to</strong> music—for <strong>the</strong> most diehard<br />

Cocks fans.<br />
