in the valley.
Creston celebrates its agricultural heritage
starting with the Creston Valley Blossom Festival
on the Victoria Day Long Weekend in May
that includes the annual parade, classic car show,
chili cook-off, street vendors, live entertainment
and more. While attending the annual Blossom
Festival, take in the Yaqan Nuki Powwow
and Demolition Derby to make this three day
weekend a truly family event.

Three km (11/2 miles) north of the Border
on Highway 21, the route travels through the
Ktunaxa (pronounced Tu-na-hah) Nation. This
is the native name of the Lower Kootenay Band,
which means “to travel by water.” Visit the Yaqan
Nuki Heritage Centre for native crafts and
history.
