SLC has over 25 years of experience 

organising summer language camps 

in Switzerland and combining an 

excellent language education with 

a wide range of leisure, sports and 

sightseeing activities. 

We offer high quality summer programmes, 

headed by a highly motivated 

and experienced team in our 

newly renovated course centres of 

Leysin, Montreux and Neuchâtel. 

We combine intensive language 

lessons in the morning with a varied 

sports, leisure and excursion 

programme in the afternoon and 

evening. 

The Leysin location, half an hour 

away from Lake Geneva, is suitable 

for participants from 10 to 17 years of 

age. Our Montreux centre caters to

more mature participants of 14 to 18 

years of age. Our centre in Neuchâtel 

welcomes participants from 12 to 17 

years of age. 

All centres offer the option to study 

either English or French. German is 

also offered in our Leysin centre. 

The SLC “Hot Sports Card” allows 

our participants to participate in a 

variety of sports and leisure activities. 

The pass – with a weekly bonus 

of CHF 40.– is already included in the 

course fee. 

In addition to the full-day Saturday 

excursion and the two weekly 

half-day excursions we offer one 

admission every second week to 

the Aquaparc in Le Bouveret on the 

shores of Lake Geneva (see pages 

16 - 17) for the Montreux and Leysin 

camp. In Neuchâtel, we offer one 

admission to Europa-Park for stays 

of 2 weeks or longer. 

Renovated in 2005 - 2008, our course 

centres have excellent infrastructures 

with modern classrooms, nice 

double and single rooms and a large 

variety of leisure facilities. 

Our course centres have also gained 

a reputation for their excellent catering 

since their reopening. 

A team of professional cooks prepares 

three buffets (breakfast, lunch 

and dinner) from Monday to Friday, 

with brunch and dinner on the weekends. 

Barbecues or special theme 

nights offer even more diversity.

The intensive morning classes call 

for relaxation and recreation in the 

afternoon. If you’re interested in 

sports and physical exercise or prefer 

to take it easy, there are plenty 

of possibilities.

5 | AQUAPARC / EUROPA-PARK 

Every second week we offer a complimentary 

excursion to the Aquaparc 

in Le Bouveret on the shores of Lake 

Geneva (Montreux & Leysin camp) 

and also include one free day to 

Europa-Park after a minimum stay of 

2 weeks (Neuchatel camp). 

6 | FACILITIES 

All SLC campuses have an impressive 

infrastructure with modern 

classrooms, internet cafes, learning 

lounges, coffee shops and restaurants, 

gyms, aerobics halls, sun 

decks and a lot more. They were 

completely renovated in 2005 - 08 and 

offer excellent facilities.

the safety of our guests: all buildings 

comply with legal specifications and 

rules and our well-trained staff is

in a double standard room. 

If you prefer to stay in a single or deluxe 

room, a surcharge applies (see 

price list). The rooms are cleaned 

weekly by our housekeeping department 

and at the same time bed linen 

and towels are changed.

Our team of professional cooks prepares 

a fresh breakfast, lunch and

CLASSES 

Learning a language is fun! If you 

haven’t discovered this yet, you will 

during your stay at SLC. 

Our teachers are well qualified and 

experienced. Classes are conducted 

in classrooms, in the gardens, on the 

panoramic terrace and even on 

field trips.

THE LESSONS 

From day one you’ll feel inspired by 

the motivating atmosphere, which is 

ideal for maximum learning success! 

CLASS LEVELS 

On the first day all participants (except 

the absolute beginners) take a 

placement test to be assigned to an 

appropriate class. If necessary, the 

level of class can be changed after 

consultation with the teacher within 

the first two days. 

TEACHERS 

Our dynamic team of lecturers creates 

interesting and active lessons. 

The units have clear structures and 

are taught in a relaxing environment. 

CLASS TIMES 

Classes are conducted in the morning 

from Monday to Friday: 4 lessons 

per day, 20 lessons per week. 

EXTRA CONVERSATION 

Participants with a minimum of two 

years experience can participate in 

an additional two lessons of conversation 

class two afternoons per week 

(see price list). 

LEARNING METHODS 

Our teachers work with flexible curricula. 

They are able to adapt to the 

specific level and needs of the group, 

creating diversified lessons. 

Small classes (appr. 12 - 13 students) 

allow a lot of personal attention to 

each student. 

Where appropriate to the class level, 

teachers will also use media such 

as short movies, newspaper articles 

and role-plays. 

LEARNING INFRASTRUCTURE 

The study centres boast brand new 

and modern learning infrastructures.

The classrooms have been newly 

renovated and feature white boards 

as well as multimedia projectors and 

TV/video. Our learning lounges are 

the perfect place for homework and 

group work. 

LEARNING SUCC ESS 

Your stay at SLC will help to improve 

your language knowledge. How 

much you improve will of course also 

depend upon your commitment and 

motivation. Our club atmosphere 

will make it easy for you to learn with

An active lifestyle demands a 

healthy, balanced selection of foods. 

Our chefs have years of experience 

in preparing meals for the demands 

of young people and offer a balanced 

and diversified daily menu. 


MONDAY – FRIDAY 

Three daily meals will be offered 

from Monday to Friday: breakfast, 

lunch and dinner. All meals are offered 

in a buffet-style and you are 

free to refill your plate. 

Usually there will be a selection of 

salads, main courses, desserts, fruit

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 

The days to sleep late! Breakfast and 

lunch will be contracted into one single 

meal, our popular and abundant 

brunch buffet. 

After your return from the daily excursions 

and activities, a hearty dinner

“THEME NIGHTS” 

Throughout the summer our chefs 

surprise their guests with “theme 

nights”: an Asian buffet, a Mexican 

dinner, “La Soirée Française”, the 

“Burger & Nuggets” night – you can 

be sure it’s going to be good!

Whether it is the “Lake Side” in 

Montreux, the “Market Place” in Leysin

SPORTS 

Sports enthusiasts will really get 

their money’s worth in our study 

centre in Leysin. With its excellent 

infrastructure, the holiday-village of 

Leysin offers a wide range of sports 

activities. Nearby Lake Geneva and 

Lake of Neuchâtel provides additional 

water sports possibilities.

the students, the Leisure Managers

Discover both Montreux and Leysin’s 

beautiful surroundings from the 

sky! Be sure to create a lifelong 

memory by experiencing the Swiss 

scenery from up above. The view of 

the lake and mountains is simply 

breathtaking.

THERMAL BATHS 

A Must-Do in Switzerland, the thermal 

bath waters run directly from 

natural hot water sources. In our 

Montreux and Neuchâtel centres you 

will have the possibility of going to the 

thermal baths of Yverdon-les Bains 

(Neuchâtel) and Lavey-les-Bains 

(Montreux). The water may reach up 

to 34°C. 

DISCO 

Our Leysin centre has an equipped 

disco. Great parties are organized 

every week. Thanks to the DJ, dancing 

is a must! You may even organize 

a theme night with your friends. 

FUNPLANET 

Another big hit with our students is 

“Fun Planet”, an entertainment park 

situated nearby. Participants can 

use their credits on the “Hot Sports 

Bonus” to pay for activities like gocarting, 

bowling, arcade games, simulators, 

wall climbing and a variety of 

other entertainment.

THE STUDY CENTRE 

The SLC courses take place in two 

former hotels: the “Mont Blanc 

Palace” and the “Bélvedère”. Both 

hotels were owned by Club Med 

until 2002 and then taken over and 

completely renovated by SEG, Swiss 

Education Group, in 2004. The village 

centre of Leysin and the public sport 

facilities are easily accessible by foot 

– or with the complimentary public 

bus – in just a few minutes.

NEUCHÂTEL (12-17) 

Located between Lake Neuchâtel 

and the Jura Mountains, the city of 

Neuchâtel faces towards the Alps 

and bridges the gap between the 

Swiss Plateau and the curve of the 

Jura. This French-speaking city is 

close to the border with the Germanspeaking 

part of Switzerland. Its 

medieval town centre, castle and 

12th-century collegiate church 

endow the city with a unique charm. 

Neuchâtel has a number of higherlevel 

institutions including a 

university, several specialist high 

schools and an electronics and 

microtechnology research centre. 

This young, vibrant and motivating 

environment makes the city a highly

THE COURSE CENTRE 

SLC courses are held in the establishment 

that was formerly the “Eurotel” 

hotel and is now occupied by the IHTTI 

hotel management school run by the 

Swiss Education Group. Renovated 

in 2005, the hotel is a stone’s throw 

from the town centre. Public sporting 

facilities are located a few minutes’ 

walk away and are also accessible by 

public transport.

Accommodation in a standard double 

room is included in the cost of 

the course.

MONTREUX (14-18) 

Montreux – a city in possibly the most 

beautiful region of Switzerland, the 

“Riviera”. Well-known for its mild 

climate, the city is the home of 12 international 

schools. 

The famous “Quai des Fleurs”, with 

its cosy garden cafes and shopping 

possibilities, is an always-open 

invitation for a relaxing afternoon 

or evening near the lake. Enjoy the 

international atmosphere - particularly 

during the jazz festival with 

its countless street musicians. But 

Montreux has plenty to offer at all 

times of the year and is visited by 

thousands of tourists annually. 


THE SCHOOL 

Our school in Montreux was renovated 

in 2004/07 and features high quality 

facilities. 

ACCOMMODATION 

Participants are accommodated in 

single or double standard or deluxe 

rooms. All rooms have a shower and 

toilet. The double standard room is 

included in the course fee, for single 

or deluxe rooms a surcharge applies 

(see price list).
