Katherine Spencer 1572. She was the daughter of John Spencer and Katherine Kitson. Katherine Spencer died 1639.
1st Baronet of Stoneleigh. Knight, Sir Thomas.
This marriage is an interlock with the Spencer line whose later interlocks produced an intermarriage with John Churchill's
daughter, Anne. John Churchill was the first Duke of Marlborough whose campaigns defeated Louis XIV during the reign
of Queen Anne. This Churchill Spencer line produced Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill.
The Spencer family also produced Diana, Princess of Wales, the mother of a presumed future King of England.

iv. Alice Leigh, born about 1575, died 22 Jan 1668/69. She married (1) Dudley. She married (2) Robert
Dudley before 25 Sep 1597. Robert Dudley died 6 Sep 1649. Duchess Dudley. Her marriage to Robert
Dudley effectively ended when he abandoned her for Elizabeth Southwell in 1606. She had become a
favorite of the King who made her Duchess Dudley for life in her own right. Knight, Sir Robert. Earl
of Leicester (Elizabeth I). After his father's death Dudley tried to make himself Earl of Leicester and
Earl of Warwick. This failed and he left his wife and ran off to Italy with a maid of honor to the
Queen, Elizabeth Southwell.
v. Catherine Leigh, died 1598. She married Robert Catesby 1592. Robert Catesby died 1605.
