with industry with the aim <strong>of</strong> facilitating the prompt<br />

resolution <strong>of</strong> issues impacting the movement <strong>of</strong><br />

legitimate trade<br />

To achieve this Senior <strong>Client</strong> <strong>Manager</strong>s have been<br />

established that have significant expertise in the<br />

applicable industry sector


Role <strong>of</strong> <strong>Client</strong> <strong>Manager</strong>s<br />

•1 st point <strong>of</strong> contact for significant cargo reporting/movement<br />

issues associated with the relevant industry sector<br />

•Identify <strong>and</strong> facilitate the resolution <strong>of</strong> cargo reporting <strong>and</strong> trade<br />

issues pertaining to the industry sector<br />

•Take responsibility for the follow-up <strong>and</strong> resolution <strong>of</strong> issues<br />

reported by the industry sector<br />

•Identify potential future issues that may impact the industry sector<br />

•Ascertain industry sector training <strong>and</strong> eduction needs <strong>and</strong> initiate<br />

requirements<br />

•Facilitate meetings with relevant <strong>Customs</strong> <strong>and</strong> industry<br />

representatives when required<br />

•Represent <strong>Customs</strong> on all forums connected to the industry sector

Nicole Cottrell<br />

Over ten years experience as a Director in <strong>Customs</strong> heading Sections involved<br />

with Exports, Compliance <strong>and</strong> Community Protection. Most recently Director<br />

<strong>of</strong> CMR Communication <strong>and</strong> Training responsible for CMR communication<br />

material, training <strong>and</strong> education <strong>of</strong> industry <strong>and</strong> staff. Based in Brisbane.<br />

exports component <strong>of</strong> the ICS<br />

•Creation <strong>of</strong> almost all ICS training manuals used<br />

both internally <strong>and</strong> externally<br />

Shipping, Stevedores<br />

<strong>Customs</strong> employee for over twenty years. Currently based<br />

in Brisbane.<br />

•Ken has worked everywhere….<br />

•Heavily involved with brokers in QLD (so much so that<br />

he actually married one…)<br />

•National Implementation Team for ELOR<br />

•Most recently on the CMR Project responsible for ICS<br />

training <strong>and</strong> education <strong>of</strong> both industry <strong>and</strong> staff in the<br />

QLD/NT regions<br />

•Worked very closely with Shipping companies located in<br />

Queensl<strong>and</strong>

Industry Information<br />

Paris Lai<br />

Paris has worked in <strong>Customs</strong> 17 years.<br />

Whilst in Sydney Paris worked in Intelligence <strong>and</strong> Investigations.<br />

Paris then moved to Canberra <strong>and</strong> joined the CMR Communication<br />

<strong>and</strong> Training team.<br />

•Primarily worked with S<strong>of</strong>tware Developers <strong>and</strong> was heavily<br />

involved in the creation <strong>of</strong> ICS training material for staff <strong>and</strong> industry.<br />

Paris will essentially support all <strong>of</strong> us in the provision <strong>of</strong> information.<br />

Responsibilities include the development <strong>and</strong> maintenance <strong>of</strong> industry<br />

related education tools<br />

including on-line services <strong>and</strong> cargo websites<br />
