Grand inauguration in the auscipicious presence of Shri Guru<br />
Granth Sahib ji Maharaj took place with religious Chardi-Kala at<br />
Gobind Sadan, Mehraulli of Baba Virsa Singh ji to celebrate 300 th<br />
year Gurpurv of Gurta Gaddi of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Akal<br />
Takht Jathedar Baba Gurbhachan Singh ji inaugurated the<br />
programme. He addressed the <strong>Sangat</strong> and give details of<br />
nationalistic concept of Gurmat.<br />
Delhi State CM Sheila Dixit specially came for ë Mahan Kirtan<br />
Samagamí and addressed the congregation. Sardarni Surjit<br />
Kaur Jolly- Principal, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College and a<br />
scholar of ëAncient and Gurmat studiesí anchored the Satsang<br />
with all her professional skills. On stage she invited all Sants<br />
and Incharge of religious institutions or places related with<br />
Bhagat Sahibans, who wrote Bani in Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.<br />
She pronounced the verses of those Bhagat Sahiban as well.<br />
Sants from other different panths had come and all of them<br />
were given the momento and Saropa in their honour.<br />
S. Chiranjeev Singh ji- Margdarshak of Rashtriya Sikh <strong>Sangat</strong><br />
presented a momento to Singh Sahib Baba Gurbachan Singh-<br />
Jathedar Akal Takht and Saropa was given by S. Gurdev Singh ji<br />
of Gobind Sadan. S. Rai Singh ji (former I.A.S.) was the kye<br />
personality behind this grant congregation. S. Chiranjeev Singh<br />
addressed before the <strong>Sangat</strong>, spoke about the historic<br />
personality of Baba Virsa Singh ji Maharaj, nature of the format<br />
of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji, Bhagat Sahibans, Raagas, social<br />
justice, nationalist view point of Gurmat. S. Gurcharan Singh<br />
Gill- National President was also presnt on this occasion.<br />
Rashtriya Sikh <strong>Sangat</strong> workers were working day and night to<br />

Punjab to release 155 prisoners on Gurta Gaddi day<br />
BH<strong>AT</strong>INDA: One hundred and fifty five prisoners from various jails of<br />
Punjab will be set free on October 20 as a goodwill gesture by the<br />
Punjab government. According the Punjab Jails Minister, Hira Singh<br />
Gabria, 155 inbmates including two women, which include the sick<br />
and old would be released.<br />
The details of the prisoners from various jails to be released is 10<br />
prisoners from Patiala central jail, 16 from Ferozepur, 11 from<br />
Jalandhar, 27 from Ludhiana, 10 from Bathinda, 4 from Gurdaspur<br />
and 33 from Amritsar central jails, 4 prisoners from Faridkot district<br />
jail, 13 from Sangrur, 3 from Nabha, 2 from Kapurthala one from<br />
Moga sub-jail, one from Muktsar, 7 from Ropar, 4 from Barnala, 2<br />
from Phagwara, 2 from Borstal jail in Ludhiana and 2 women<br />
prisoners from women cell, Ludhiana..<br />

CHANDIGARH: As a part of the Gurta Gaddi celebrations, the<br />
Punjab government today released a pictorial album ìBeksan-<br />
Ra-Yaar - Guru Gobind Singhî on the life and philosophy of<br />
tenth master of Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh and gold and silver<br />
medallions of 10 gram and 50 gram each dedicated to the<br />
tercentenary celebrations of Guruship of Guru Granth Sahib.<br />
The Punjab Languages department has prepared the album in<br />
consultation with the SGPC and it portrays the journey of the<br />
Tenth Master from his childhood to his passing away in<br />
Nanded.<br />
The medallions made in Switzerland are 24 carat gold. It has the<br />
opening words of Guru Granth Sahib in the handwriting of Guru<br />
Arjan Dev on one side while the other side shows the Palki<br />
Sahib.<br />
The medallions will be made available through select Phulkari<br />
outlets and branches of Punjab and Sind Bank in the state.<br />
